I still think that the game can be good, but this video didn't help create that idea.
Commentary such as "you'll find obstacles such as... boxes" and "Sonic will be able to move at supersonic speed" only to see Sonic moving at slowpoke speed just didn't do it.

@Simple_Man: How is it possible there are still naysayers over this game? Speed is important to the franchise, but it's not the main pillar. The character, the platforming, the button-press-timing gameplay and the level designs were every bit as important. And BioWare seems to have blessed this game with plenty of those other elements.

I hear alot of people saying the game looks slow and isnt being true to the franchise. Even though its not epileptic fast, I think this game will be good, and I trust BioWare. I mean you could argue that super mario rpg wasnt true to the platforming attuned to the franchise, but it was fantastic. So I say try it, before you run by it.

Yup. Sonic's gone bad in the last few years, but with Bioware at the helm his last game might just see him off with some dignity. Yessiree. No more games after this one, but at least he goes out with a bang. What? Sonic Unleashed? He turns into a werewolf? Shut up, kid, you're delusional. What's that? He gets a broadsword? Ha ha ha. Young people and their imaginations. It sure will be nice for Sonic's LAST GAME EVER to be a good one.

I swear, this marketing campaign is trying reverse psychology. We all are assuming a new Sonic game is going to suck, so they release these really god-awful trailers hoping that we'll think, "Maybe they blew all their budget on actually making the game good?"

Whatever potential Bioware saw in a Sonic game, I'm not seeing it.

Guh, the music and environments just don't feel like a Sonic game. I don't think even Bioware could pull this one off because, well, their style and Sonic's just don't seem to mesh.

Sonic's speed was never the main pillar? Correction: It was ALWAYS the main pillar. Sonic's speed is what gave him that edge over the Mario franchise.

I do agree that this game is looking rather slow paced for a Sonic game... perhaps they could have just made a new franchise and used this game engine? It's looking rather pretty.

As for this being Sonic's last game... No... I think Sega has plenty more teat to milk with Sonic. Let's face it. He's the one cool mascot left. I'd much rather grab a beer with Sonic than I would with Mario. Just a thought.

That really didn't seem like an exciting showcase of the game. Narration calling out hyper-exciting features like... boxes? Constantly pointing out how important speed is to the world while a character hobbles around the screen? Lots of walking, grabbing rings while walking, pressing a button while walking...

I feel like BioWare is attempting to lower expectations before launch, with the hope of generating buzz by exceeding those lowered expectations. Hopefully this will not be their Stretch Panic.

I'm not sure whether to be excited, or on the ground writhing in agony. BioWare does good characters... but I'm prone to hating extra sonic characters...
