Tom Clancy Games Prepare To Tactically Engage The Nintendo Wii

Ubisoft's current lineup on the Wii is...regrettable. Could do with a few more "proper" games. Like the Tom Clancy ones, most of those are pretty decent. Here's what Ubisoft boss, the delightfully-named Yves Guillemot, has to say on the matter:
Tom Clancy will appear [on the Wii] at one point. We need to make sure they [look good]. We have engines that were created for the next-generation consoles. We had to re-engineer a certain number of engines to be sure we could use the quality of the machine. Even without the [high-end] graphics, the experience can still be very interesting. ... To make sure we can create good enough products [on Wii] or products better than Nintendo's takes time. That's why you don't see many products, but you will see more and more in the future.
Yves, screw the new games, just re-release the GameCube version of Chaos Theory (with MP intact), we'll forgive the wait.

at least make it look as good as the original xbox SC, add some nifty infiltration mechanics for the wiimote and fire Cammy Dunaway. lord knows what'll happen if she begins hyping the game.

Everytime I see that name I think of chives.
Which puts me onto baked potatoes.
And then I find myself digging in the back of the cabinets for potatoes, and end up finding ones that are half way to planthood.
So yea, a big "Screw You Kotaku" for making me need to go to the grocer at 10:30 to get potatoes and chives.

hmmm Speaking of Tom Clancy Ubisoft needs to not worry about the Wii and hurry with EndWar man that game looks too cool.

I was probably the only person who liked Double Agent on the Wii.
Glad to hear that they're coming out with more. I just hope they come out before the new consoles start rolling in.

Hey, wasn't splinter cell: double agent a wii game with tom clancy's name on it? I'm sure of it, since we've had about 5 clearance copies in my store for months now. I wonder why nobody's bought them?

Glad to see Yves has changed his tone. He was pretty anti-Wii at first, but I'm sure it's hard to ignore those sales.

They need to re-engeiner the next gen engines, when they already had perfectly fine engine with the old Xbox that could be easily used or even the Wii Splintercell: Double Agent?
This does not sound like Ubisoft.

Oooh and piece of advice to you....If you call someone a Nintendo Zombie is offending. I don't care if nintendo is last or first or whatever the thing that mostly annoys me in this hate generated blogs is to reproduce prejudice against gamers on all consoles and an elitistic behavior from fanboys of either game company.
So my best advice to you enjoy gaming on whatever console you like.

@bobtheduck: I would say most Splinter Cell games blow anyway.
I'd rather see a Rainbow Six on the Wii, or a Ghost Recon. But none of that Vegas or Advanced Warfighter bs...

I don't think any other company can be more hit and miss then Ubisoft. They'll put out a prince of persia and a splinter cell, then Dogz 3: Dogz in da hood.
