KH ReBeat (awful name) was a bonus for getting KH2:FM+ and it is being released on its own in the states. I was not a big enough fan of the original to make rebuying it in 3D seem like a reasonable deal.

Come on SE! Release KH2FM+ as a bonus with KH Re-Beat! I can guarantee you'll double your sales.

For some reason I kept reading the text and looking for KH3 mentioned in there somewhere........it has to be announced at TGS then, yea? Right? There was a rumor and all??? Not that I'm a big fan of the series, I never played it, but I'm trying to get a more diverse gaming background by playing JRPGs which I missed out on the past 8 years (lol), so I figured nexgen KH would be a good move.

YES! I was so bummed when there was that small rumor that perhaps, just maybe, Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ was getting a US release, but eventually got shot down. I'm very happy with this. Can't wait. There are a lot of characters, particularly in Organzation XIII that were never given voices since they didn't appear in KHII. There are a few though, and I wonder if their actors will be reprising their roles as well, like Quinton Flynn as Axel.

I never got why the interim game was on the GBA. They were targeting a narrow audience that has both the PS2 and the GBA, and played through the original.

Is there anyone out there that enjoyed the card system? I personally loved it. My problem is that once you get towards the end, the battles become extremely easy. You can break any card the enemies throw at you.

On a side note, does anyone know if the ps2 version has multiplayer like the GBA one?

Finally, this game should have been released years ago. I played the GBA version and although it was a little too simplistic it was still enjoyable. It will be fun to play it in 3D with a voice cast.

@Poo_and_Weeeee: weird- i found that upscaled ps2 games looked better on my 60 gig ps3 through my hdtv than they did through my ps2. i tried both using component cables.

i know this because i was replaying ff12 on my ps3 on the first day i got my new ps3 and hdtv.... and it turns out my ps3 was a lemon, cause it stopped reading everything but blu-rays. we took it back to the store and had it replaced because it was justthree days after we got it (thank god- they had one other 60 gig left, and it was well after that sku had been discontinued)... in the interim, i tried playing it through the ps2, even after tweaking the settings... it just made my eyes bleed.

perhaps in pal territories it is different, but my ps3 does a beautiful job of upscaling here in canadia.

anyway.

i'll probably get this. i still haven't played kh2 yet. sad i know. the original was good, but a bit too cutesy. it does have that 'square touch' though... and the cheap price point makes the purchase guilt free! smart move.

I mean it has a new game, justifying it's purchase to people who already had Kingdom Hearts II. While at the same time it could be an attractive offer to bring a few new fans into the fold.

but i wasnt too fond of Chain of Memories. the story was bad, it was a make shift story so they could sell one more edition of the game. the story could have been done away with and KH1 and KH2 will still make sense.
thats how inappropriate it was.

but i rather have Final Mix then this. this is quite the rubbish really.
unless they add in a demo for KH3 or something then maybe i'm all ears. (even if it means its going to be graphical poor as its on PS2 but what the heck, at least we get to play somethiong NEW)

@Candlejack: A last-gen Kingdom Hearts game would an even better move, since there's a good chance you won't know what the hell is going on in KH3 if you haven't played the previous games :) Luckily there's plot summaries and all that for those not interested in playing through them. I sincerely recommend the first game in the series - it's great and should be dirt cheap to pick up by now.

@pressstart: I'm also in that boat. Surely there will be a complete story video, just as there is one for the GBA version.

Also: card based fighting systems suck!

To all HATERS of the battle system its actually the same damn thing all you have to do is play normally and you get a majority of keyblade cards, heals, potions, and elixers. This game was great and had the best story of all three titles so far. Itll be great to actually BUY the game in ENGLISH and get rid of the japanese bootleg i had to make to play this originally. The story scenes were really fleshed out and rival Kingdom Hearts One in quality:). It even has extras not included in the original GBA release!

@anime10121: Oh and sorry about the double post but to those asking why Square didnt release Final Mix + alongside with this is because Final Mix + and Kingdom Hearts II are 2 completely SEPARATE games. They have all the text translated and Voices localised on the original for final mix they'd have to re-lip-sync the voices in the videos, re insert the translated text into each text file, and also re-bug check the game and make sure what they did didnt make any bugs, and also to make sure it fits Square's quality standard for Kingdom Hearts games.

This game came out last year in Japan with Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+. It's not really new.

It's called "Re" Chain of Memories because it's a remake of the game for PS2.

BUT THANK GOD THEY'RE RELEASING IT IN AMERICA. Square-Enix enjoys keeping their stuff in Japan-only too much.
