The video really shows more what I want The Sims. Make a bunch of kooky people and make them do whacky things and live crazy lives. I just never really get this from playing The Sims since I'm just baby-sitting constantly while I try to juggle work with social-life even though I guess that's the sort of realism they were going for. The "simians" really have their charm. I just wish it could be shown in more then a few rare moments in the game. Maybe I'm just playing the game too seriously (really interesting I noticed, is that most of the things just I said is still applicable in RL)

I like the song though as I still find cheesy pop catchy and always loved the sims gibberish.

You would be lying if you said this isn't a "catchy pop" song. Is it profound? Nope. But sometimes music doesn't have to be.

My biggest problem with Katy Perry is that she goes for shock value with some of her stuff. Musically tho, she doesn't need to. Hot N Cold is a great example of this. It's just a catchy song that is very danceable - and she didn't have to talk about calling her ex gay or kissing another girl for fun.

I like to think I listen to quality music, (it's all opinion really) - but every once in a while I will listen to shallow pop.

Katy Perry isn't bad music, its just shallow pop stuff. No, its not deep or groundbreaking, but its not suppose to be, either. Its fun- but im not sure it should be in video games...

I actually find the lyrics to most songs are really stupid, so listening to the gibberish is better anyway. In fact, I listen to a lot of J-Pop and Chinese music and only understand a word here and there. I prefer it that way. Unusual, I know. But that way I can just judge a song by whether I like the sound of it or not, and don't have to be bothered by retarded lyrics. The song can mean whatever I feel like it should be about.

Am I the only one who hates "Simlish?" I mean it's just obnoxious at this point. Can't they just use a real language or something? I just can't stand it. I can't be the only one. Knowing what the game is like IRL, I have high admiration for the team that put this together, assuming they didn't use too many development tools that was an impressive vid. A lot of shot sequences pieced together in such a way I found myself watching a second time.

Well, unless you post up specs it's hard to tell what the problem is, but off-the-cuff I would suggest more RAM. Sims 2 doesn't just eat RAM, it gobbles it whole! Strangely, Sims 2 runs better in Vista than it did in XP for me. It probably has to do with Vista being able to handle dual core better.
