LEGO Batman The Launch Party
Posted by Brian Crecente at 3:00 AM on September 27, 2008
Earlier this week Warner Brothers Interactive took over a portion of the Museum of Nature and Science to host a LEGO Batman The Videogame launch party. While I wasn't able to swing by the place (must have missed the Crecente Signal), some folks in PR were kind enough to pass along this buffet of pictures from the event. Looks like people had a blast. My review of the game, incidentally, should be up in the next few days.

So who's played it? I loved LEGO Indiana Jones (it's one of the few 360 games I tried for all Achievements).

Did you guys know the cake is FULLY EDIBLE?
Learned that while trying to get the Little Big Planet BETA key while watching that crappy "On The Spot" show on Gamespot

@Lemon Goo: It's good. Similar to the other games, of course. But the Batman IP has more miles to it than Indy, for sure. And since I'm a bigger Batman fan than Star Wars, I prefer that.
Also, it's not based on anything existing, so you don't feel like you're going through the motions. Every mission is a self-contained story, really.

@Lemon Goo:
Got it for PC and DS, but I've hit two unsurpassable roadblocks in the PC version and one in the DS.
I've got penguin-bombs that I'm supposed to deflect, but they blow up the instant they touch the deflector. I've got a guy I'm supposed to mind-control so I can grow a giant flower, only I can't find anyplace where I can stand that'll allow me to mind-control him. And in the DS version I've hit a point where Robin has a triple-vault acrobat point that'll sorta get him to a ledge with a bomb-only barrier (he actually lands on a security camera, but I've been able to get him down to the ledge), only there's no way to get Batman up there to blow it up.

I'm sorry I must be lost. I thought this was Kotaku but there is no way a post containing a picture of an epic lego gotham city cake can go posted with no mention on Kotaku. Not even a mention in the tags. I don't know where this is but this is not Kotaku and you sir are not the Brian Crecente I'm familiar with. And if those are tiny edible cake minifigs I move you be hung and quartered as a fraud.

Jesus balls, I would be ashamed to eat a cake that looks that nice. My mind is blown that it is infact, a cake.

And slowly the woman painting the cake looks away.
...
She looks back.
Batman is gone!
She turns around.
*Wham!*
A left hook by Batman!
*Whoosh*
A second punch is missed
*Ka Pow!*
A swift roundhouse kick to the face.
Batman takes off his mask.
...Chuck Norris?

@Purple Dave:
Whoops, figured out the DS roadblock, but the other two, not so much. And a friend of mine had a really goofy thing happen with his DS game. He bought Mr. Freeze to get super-strength and poison-immunity, but when he went to run a Free-Play adventure, he got _five_ Mr. Freeze characters and no Robin.

@ikillbears: Yeah, too bad the model isn't made out of Legos, which would be more cooler.
