Dario Argento In Dead Space
Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 6:00 PM on September 30, 2008
Italian horror filmmaker Dario Argento (Suspiria, Deep Red) is doing voice work for EA's scary sci-fi title Dead Space. According to EA, the director lent his horror know-how in actively creating character Doctor Kyne. Here's the catch: His voice work will only appear in the Italian version. That's good for those who understand Italian, but not so good for those who don't. Still, it's neat to see Argento lend his name to the project. Don't think we can master the Italian language in time for the October 14th shipdate.

I used to love Argento. Sadly, the most awful movie character ever (Juno) claimed her love for him, so now, when i hear 'argento', all i hear is annoying and trite one-liners, with irritating indie music in the background.
Erk. Juno..
sorry for those who liked it. just the opinion of a guy who either has no heart, or can't stand annoying 'ohiamsoclever' teens.
His daughter, though, is still good in my books. Oh Asia...

pretty cool, I must admit. Sadly that means Argento has nothing better to do, though..

You'd better get the English-speaking version of Argento for the english version EA!
John Carpenter? I'd be interested just to see who they'd come up with if they did bother to fulfill that request!

Well, i'm a little nervous for this game. Last time a rather large "geek props" name was dropped for this title, two days later, they said his work was years back, and had been reworked. Lookin your way, Ellis. (and i was EXCITED when his name was connected.)
Call me jaded, but if we find out in two days he's NOT doing much with it... well, i won't be shocked in the least.
Still curious about this game, even though my spidey senses are tingling that i shouldn't be.

I'm trying not to get *TOO* excited, but I'm going to go with still pretty damn excited about this game :) Looks kill-tastic! And, of course, Dario Argento being involved just makes it seem cooler (I, thankfully, have not seen Juno so he isn't ruined for me).

Holy sweet crap. Suspira is fantastic. Just watched again last week. The music in the movie is amazing. EA should have gone through the trouble of getting Goblin to score Dead Space.

You sir, are a genius. Goblin to score the game would be stellar. Absolutely stellar.

Nice! Argento's films have always been quality horror flicks. Maybe I can relearn the Italian I forgot from high school in time for... ah screw it.

@WildWon: I felt the same way.
I am kind of expecting this game to make me feel a little of the same way when it actually arrives.
A bit like going to have a beer with your old best friend who you haven't seen for years, only to realise that they aren't as cool as you remember them being.

Dario Argento. All I can say is that man saved a Halloween that had set sail for Suck-ville when I happened upon an Italian horror movie marathon on the Independent Film Channel.
God bless him. Him and his distressingly gorgeous daughter.
