The main characters in other GTA games have been traditionally anti-drugs. I always thought it was sort of a statement by Rockstar. Organized crime and all that is cool -- just not the drugs. Kinda like how in Goodfellas everything is A-OK until the drugs start hitting the scene.

I just think it's funny that they hammered in a as a mini- game something that I played when I was a freshman in high school over 12 years ago on my calculator. Oh the memories of skipping school, designing Doom levels, my first girlfriend, learning to drink... Good times. :)

Luke: I could be wrong, but isn't the drug issue with Australian classification guidelines not that there are real drugs, but that those real drugs are seen to have positive effects?

I believe that's the reason that GTA4 got away with having pretty obvious cocaine abuse, because it was shown to be, well, abuse. Cocaine as an in-game power-up = ban. Cocaine as plot point = justified.

That said, this doesn't look like a justifiable plot development. Good luck sorting this one out, OFLC.

Man, everyone played that game (or rather, a port of it) back in high school. I myself didn't though. I think i was the only person with a graphing calculator that didn't have games on it (i did, however, have some programs that helped me out with the ACT and made the math portion much quicker!)

... There was also one person who had some sort of a "rape simulator" on his graphing calculator... yeah... WTF.

Obviously I'm a total prude but I find this really tasteless. Proper lowest comon denominator stuff. Drugs ruin peoples lives in a much more real sense than lone crims highjacking trucks and going around town on blowing up shit / killing sprees.

... and is thusly banned from Australia. Or at least that's what might happen. On the other hand, the Fallout 3 incident had more to do with the use of the drugs than with the fact that there were drugs in the game in the first place, so who knows.

Nonetheless, even if all this turns out to be is a miniature version of DrugWars from the TI-82 calculators, it'll still be great fun, especially in the GTA world.

A friend of mine programmed into his graphing calculator a program to keep track of all of his drug dealings, to calculate his profit, how much people owe him, how much he owes other people, a key to how much different slang for drugs is equal to. It was pretty awesome, and I see this as being a replacement for that.

Use stylus to cut the coke.

Put your nose to the stylus on screen and drag it across the screen for snorting simulation.

For heroin you have to use your stylus and do a circular motion around the bicep to slow blood flow then tap the arm on the screen for the vein to pop up, hit the vein with the stylus then slowly drag downward motion for the heroin to be injected.

To anyone who is thinking of making an aussie ban joke - NO. The reason F3 was banned it because it featured PRESCRIPTION medicine, of which the advertising is illegal in australia.

Hence why it was ok to pop heads, but not to call the drug morphine.

So as far as I know, prescription pot is yet to reach our shores, so all those drugs should be fair game.... in theory :P

I don't know... Usually, I don't care about the ridiculous stuff in GTA games but this seams a bit much... Really, dealing drugs is something that is real and truly kills people... Stealing cars, running over people and all the typical stuff in GTA is more like fantasy...
