@daknight: I have to correct you a little. The DSi Ware service will cost 0, 200, 500, or 800 Nintendo points each. The DSi's music player won't play MP3s as far as we know, but ACCs.

This conference makes things better after a lackluster E3, good for Nintendo, and for me since my only currente console is a Wii. Still I want to see what Sony shows on TGS, I hope they show the new project from Team Ico, loved both Ico and SOTC, can't wait to see what they're cooking up now.

@jiggaboojones:
The news is mixed. Minor storage solution problem is decent, if 3 years late. Punch-Out, while expected, is still cool. Sin & Punishment 2 is an awesome announcement, hopefully it's released in the US. That Capcom vs Tetsu fighting game is great news for Japanese gamers at least. I hope they find a way to bring something similar to the US. The key here is this announcement is designed for the Japanese crowd more than the US one so maybe some of the highlighted games aren't as interesting. Still, there's a lot to like from a lot of different angles. I don't think that would be considered weak even if you aren't interested in most games.

@jiggaboojones: You're just going to have to cry into your pillow at night or sell your Wii/DS because Nintendo will not be at TGS. In fact, Nintendo is rarely ever at TGS. That's why they have these fall press conferences, troll.

IIRC they did talk a lot about wireless, like a new special router and people with internet problems get free points or something.

@elementary:
1) You can now buy the games directly to the SD card, I'm not sure if you can play them directly from there.. but at least the transference should be faster.
2) Nah.. probably DSi specific games
3) I want to know that too :(

@elementary: Here is the info from what I know
1) This is a bit confusing to me as well, I believe is that you can play them from the SD card...cause one could already transfer this stuff to the SD card. So being able to download it directly to the SD card isn't really much of a solution.
2) It'll have its OWN download service that for now is call DSware, where games will be free, 500 and 800 points each. That is what the SD card is for (as well as pictures). It also has a built-in storage space for this. I believe is ALSO to store mp3.
3) Yes, the GC games being release under the new brand will feature added Wii controls.

Okay, I have a few questions still.
1) What's with the new Wii SD card game storage? Can you play VC and WiiWare games direct from card? If not, what's new about it?
2) I see the new iDS is capable of downloading and storing games now. Does this mean we can tranfer our VC and WiiWare games to the DS and play them on the go? (Okay, I already know the answer is no)
3) Gamecube games being released as Wii playables. Will these versions support Wii IR pointer and motion controls the way RE4 did?

I really fancy the DSi now. In-built browser, camera, music playback AND downloadable content/games is awesome, and totally took me by surprise.
Wii-wise - New game announcements rock. The main games I'm looking forward to now from today's announcement are:
Another Code
Cosmic Walker
Endless Ocean 2: Beautiful Ocean
Punch-Out!!
Sin and Punishment 2
:D

I hope they surprise us in San Fran with more new announcements. Punch Out is cool, storage solution is OK, I never played Sin and Punishment... but I'll get the VC title just to see what it's all about.
Maybe in San Fran they'll announce they're publishing The Conduit... after all it is America and we love our first person shooters.

@jiggaboojones: I just think you were expecting things that were never going to happen. You're not going to get a Zelda announcement until it's ready, your not going to get a Mario announcement until it's ready, heck Nintendo doesn't even seem to like to announce a new franchise or game until about an hour in advance.
Again, you should probably sell your Wii and/or DS (if you even have them) because it doesn't have anything that's going to interest you for the rest of '08, and I can't do anything to convice you otherwise.
P.S. Don't say this was a disappointing conference unless you put "IMHO" behind it, because you stated it in your opening comment like it was a fact or even an opinion of the majority.

@valhum: Well, to begin with, most of the new titles and products shown in their fall conference are for early 2009. E3 is in the middle of the year, and it wouldn't make much sense for Nintendo to crack their chickens before their ready to hatch. The exception, of course, being Wii Motion+ and Wii Sports Resort (and only as an effort to 1up Microsoft and Sony and to get information out to developers).
Second, Nintendo now seems to be using E3 as a conference for the general public.

I like how you call me troll just because I speak the truth. You are an obvious Wii/DS fanboy. What have they given us for the fall beside Castlevania Judgement and Tales of Symphonia? Tak and the Guardians of Gross, Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine, Celebrity Sports Showdown. And those are just some of the shitty titles coming out in October. Nintendo needs to get their head out their ass and start releasing games worth our money.
Nothing agaisnt the DS because they have a shitload of crap coming out or just recently released.

@jonaswan2: Nobody cares about the "New Zelda/Mario/Metroid". We have had enough of those. How about something NEW??? Yeah I know, wacky, isn't it?
Nintendo has been using the same franchise for over 20 years!!! Can't they think something new? Forget the "Wii-Something" Stuff, that doesn't count
The DS is awesome as it is, and getting better everyday... and the Wii? Nope. It's gathering dust in my room
P.S: That storage solution isn't a solution at all.. Nintendo just refuses to actually do something

I am betting part of the reason that Nintendo is releasing this is in some effort to try and break compatibility with flash carts.
Flash Carts recently fell in price, now people can buy a decent DS Flashcart for only 13 dollars. With flashcarts costing less then an actual DS game I am sure they are starting to have a very serious problem with piracy.
Still, I wonder if some smart people will figure out how to load homebrew and ROMS over that new SD Slot they decided to throw in there.

Trace Memory... on Wii? Still can't believe it, that one came out of nowhere. Seeing as the original is quite possibly my favorite game for the DS, I'm quite excited for this one, and hope that NoA will acknowledge it at their conference today. So good to see Ashley up and about again. Anybody know if this is supposed to be a remake?... sequel?
... and if it's a sequel, where will that leave D?

This is why I sold my Wii to my parents. There was like...1...2..maybe 3 games I want. None of them even look like titles that will be fun for longer than 10 minutes. I feel it's a real shame this happened but what ever. I'm happy with my ps3 and 360

@Chopper_Mike: What about Disaster and Captain Rainbow? We didn't even know Nintendo was even thinking about releasing those games until a few months before it happened. I know I didn't have the slightest clue that Fatal Frame IV was going to be a Wii exclusive until before it released. Let's not even talk about some of the recent WiiWare games.
You want new franchises from Nintendo, you're going to have to be patient. As we've seen in the past, Nintendo doesn't announce games a year (or more) in advance, only build hype that could eventually come down in down in disappointment. You can't do that with brand new concepts and brand new franchises. If you want new franchises, you're going to have to be patient. If you can't be patient, there are plenty of parents and suckers who will buy your Wii off of you for a premium come Christmas.
And don't even give me that new franchise BS, because the majority of Nintendo fanboys that buy Nintendo consoles (not you), seem to buy them for the Nintendo experience. They don't want new, they want Mario.
Also, can someone explain to me why Nintendo and Nintendo alone have to be the ones that supply the fun and entertainment for your little white boxes? Nintendo opened the Wii and the DS up to 3rd parties for a reason.

Learning about the SD slot makes me want to buy the DSi. Is that bad? D: I'm still iffy on these new revisions but it's not like this has never happened before so it was to be expected. The revisions do seem really nice though.
Re-relesing GC games? I don't really like that, it's almost like the're saying 'we've run out of games'.
Being able to save games directly to the SD card, this really should have been there all along and we still have to wait till 09 for it?

@jonaswan2: troll indeed. Sin and Punishment 2 is serious, PunchOut is still awesome no matter how you slice it. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is not only great but exclusive last I checked. Sky Crawlers looked great too and there were a number of other games worthy of note.
There's a lot to like in that line for some of us. It's funny how people that sound like total non-nintendo fans will complain about how their nintendo hardware is collecting dust. Kinda like the guy that complains that girls suck because none will sleep with him...but he's gay.
