Mortal Kombat Box Art Revealed, Plus Shazam!

Midway has unvieled the official box art for their upcoming crossover fighter Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe, and while previews of the game and footage I've seen seem to indicate it will be a solid fighter, I still can't help but laugh when I see Scorpion facing off against Batman holding a kunai. Along with the box art comes a few new screenshots that aren't nearly as laughable, giving us a look at Baraka, Raiden, and Captain Marvel himself, SHAZAM! *gets hit by lightning bolt, dies*

Am I the only one who thinks this box art looks terrible? It reminds me of the cheesy artwork we'd see on SNES & megadrive games in the 90's. Why did'nt they go with the original teaser image of Batman vs Subzero. Much better methinks.

pass. i bet the dc characters use fighting animations from past 3d mk games besides their "superpower moves". besides that everything is so rubber looking. feels like i'm playing a 3d clay fighters.

The concept is still a WTF for me, but the gameplay vids made it look fun. Hard to believe Superman gets third billing on the box art. This once again proves Batman can kick his ass.

The smaller version of this picture made Scorpion look like he had a duck bill because Raiden's hat sort of blended in with Scorpion's mask.

This game better sell like hotcakes, or Midway is fucked. They had to borrow 40 mil from Redstone just to finish.

I played this game at PAX and I was very disappointed. Batman VS Joker was the match with myself taking the helm of the Caped Crusader. I mean, I wasn't expecting much, but it just felt slow and sloppy. "Magical" hit boxes were everywhere you wouldn't want them to be, button mashing seemed to produce the best results but playing it logically like a proper fighting game produced no fruit. It makes me sad but it also isn't surprising.

They'll need to use kriptonite to beat Superman... Dont know why this fighting games has always the same schema. They could make some beat em up that would be more strategic,where all characters would have different high points and low points.... (for example to beat Superman the user would need to push him to kriptonite area or the user would need to catch some kriptonite... The same for all the others. :) In the end we would have a smart fighting game.) :))
But this MK vs DC may be good, lets see.

Looks really good. But I do have to say, I'm way too emotionally attached to some of these characters to ever admit that they could lose to some of the others. Seriously, Superman? Captain Marvel? Lose? Not a chance!

Remember when the entire point of Mortal Combat was that they used digitized actors instead sprites or 3d models?
If they did that for this game, then I'd be more impressed. Otherwise, it's just another fighting game with a gimmick.
