Not a fan of NBA games, but this soundtrack is pretty solid. Classic Pharcyde, Blockhead, dangerdoom.... that alone makes it great.

Being from Chicago and a fan of the Cool Kids, its a bit hard for me to stay quiet. The Bake Sale is far from ringtone rap. Yes they're obsessed with street fighter, mopeds, and limited edition sneakers. But every show where they or their affiliates have played have always been a pretty diverse selection of people. They're miles above lyrically any of the crap coming out molded for a singular demographic. But again, I'm from Chicago. That being said... I hate sports games. Wake me up when they do the soundtrack for the next gen version of the Charles Barkley RPG.

wow! why all the hate?
anyways, pretty cool there will be a new Cool Kids track.
Spank Rock & Benny Blanco - Loose (inst.) = bad-ass!!!
this track is sick! not surprised they are using the instrumental track though, the vocals are pretty raw. great track though.
for people hating on the Cool Kids, you either have no idea what you're talking about (e.g judging them by their picture) or don't like that type of music.
The Cool Kids, Dangerdoom, Gnarls Barkley, N.E.R.D., Santogold, Money Mark and Spank Rock & Benny Blanco are all artists that i thoroughly enjoy. i wouldn't consider all of them hip-hop, however, what they all DO have in common is turning their respective genre on it ear. all of these artists have managed to make original and refreshing music.

Too bad its just the inst. for Spank Rock's Loose. It'd be nice to see Hollywood Holt and Flosstradamus in there. Anyway, the soundtrack line up looks good.
Also, listen to their music before you hate. And if that hate persists, good for you.

Cool Kids? DANGERDOOM? Oh my goodness, that's uberwin.
But I refuse to buy it merely because it's soundtrack kicks ass. NHL 09's soundtrack can't hold a candle to NHL2k9's, but it blows that game out of the water in every other aspect.
P.S. "The Mask" might have been a better choice if you wanted DANGERDOOM on your track. It has Ghostface Killah and Sofa King is a little too laid back for a sports game.
P.P.S. My fellow kotaku hip-hop heads, unto you I say, "Let the haters hate and just watch the money pile up." I doubt that naota20 has even heard a track by Cool Kids, or that he ever will, lest he lose his undeserved smug sense of superiority.

@entro: Also being from Chicago and being a fan of the Cool Kids, I would have to agree, except for one thing; lyrically, Mikey and Chuck (mostly Chuck) are garbage. The only reason why people don't notice is because the beats are so dope that the words don't get noticed. "Black Mags" and "I (Mikey) Rock" are the only two lyrically good Cool Kids songs.

@KillfaceJenkins: I'd have to agree, although i'm definitely not from Chicago(I'm out in the Bay Area)the Cool Kids are a beat-producing force to be reckonded with. They have simple, catchy lyrics but nothing godly or parallel to the likes of Ghostface or for that matter Jay Electronica. The Cool Kids are awesome, that's no joke. Like I heard once, theyre N.E.R.D with less production value(beat-wise, because lyrically, pharell...damn.).

Yeah, Sofa King, I can't see in an NBA Game. Now Crosshairs? Or better yet, Old School. Those are songs that belong in a game. And good god, stop all the hate.
