I am not down with the precan animations for tricks (Snowboard Kids style), but actually looks better than i expected. Most of these balance board games seem gimmicky to me, but this could be entertaining.

Anybody remember Slalom from Nintendo in the 1980's? It was an arcade ski simulator. You had poles which doubled as a control, and then the platform that you stood on doubled as a steering mechanism. Thumb buttons on top of the pole to jump. This kinda reminds me of that.

The first game was pretty strikingly pretty, of course, with arcadeyness included.
I really enjoyed the free-roam aspects... Didn't like the inability to perform tricks at any point. This version has remedied such maladies -

@Toastbusters: Not sure what you mean by "inability to perform tricks at any point", are there "trick-only places"? I was unimpressed that you COULD do tricks willy-nilly. Like a somersault a few seconds after you've already left a jump? OK, I'll maybe buy that. A SECOND somersault after you've already stopped rotating on the first? Bullshit.

Not a bad-looking effort environment-wise (except that overly-huge bridge is typical repetitive Nintendo texture crap). A game like this CRIES out for vibration in the WiiFit board. Also, I'd recommend a hood or a toque because: a) it gets cold in those mountains and b) if you don't have the horsepower to animate hair blowing in the wind as you're blasting downhill, it just looks dumb.

Commentator: Maybe you could ask for hints and tips from someone with an icon above their head.

That 'whistle' when you do a trick is REALLY annoying! I hope they change that before the western release, or give the player an option to turn it off or change it. Other than that the game looks damn good!
