It's not all Tokyo Game Show here at Kotaku. BlizzCon's going down as well, and as Blizzard are prone to do, they're following up their major announcements with new media. in this instance, two new Starcraft 2 clips, one Protoss v Terran, one Zerg v Terran.
Wait, were those *zerglings* towards the beginning of that second trailer? Are they really that tough now? It felt like the Terrans were wailing on 'em quite a bit before they succumbed.

@Vidunder: Or unfinished. Some old but unlikely to change units like the SCV and Marines have brand new voices, where less firmly decided things have the original sounds still, in case they change in function and their voice has to change to reflect that. I mean, the new Marine is already outdated as he makes references to Medics, but since then the Medic has been dropped in favour of the Medevac Dropship...

What is up with advance alien races and machines that "walk" instead of roll. Sure it can get over most terrain easily over wheels or rollers but take one of those legs out and it's a sitting duck.
Also, rage because they took out that blue blood that dragoons bleed when they die.

The colossus looks extremely weak now however, it was dispatched very quickly, which to an extent is in line with true starcraft style gameplay, but it seems like an old school reaver drop was more effective than the colossus, it couldn't even take out more than a couple SCVs despite the terran's backup showing up late to the rescue.
I've played Dawn of War and it's not superior to this, Dawn of War played like Starcraft if it contained nothing but massing infantry. You can say I suck at DOW but eh, while it's very nice, it doesn't have the multiplayer appeal of Starcraft.

Well the engine surely looks dated (looks like DoW from 2004 but in a dull shell). How will this hold itself when they finally release the third installment with the Protoss campaign in a few years?
Death animations are primitive. Protoss units go up with a blue pop (wow!!!), I can hardly see flying debris or blood. Using the Havoc engine was really worth it!
Fire effects and flames. These would look okay if we were in 2000 or something. Just watch the part where the Zerglings catch on fire. Hilarious (in a bad way).
No epic units, animations or moments. The original StarCraft has way more kick to it (visually), no matter how old the engine is. We don't need fancy graphics but neither do we need this lifeless design. Meh :/
