Street Fighter IV Getting Animated For Your Viewing Pleasure

Those brushstroke heavy Street Fighter IV trailers are going to get turned into an anime that will fill in the gaps between Street Fighter II and its spiritual sequel Street Fighter IV. Producer Yoshinori Ono stated at TGS that the new animated feature will run between 50 and 60 minutes and hopes to tie the flick with the game's home console release. The company that churned out the original clips, Studio 4C, is working on the full-length version. The three minute trailer shown at TGS showed Cammy making her way through a wooded area with some troops, Ryu discovering his dark side, Sakura and Chun-Li battling goons, and Ryu and Crimson Viper fighting.

It would be badass if they included it in the game as an unlockable...
Maybe beat akuma on INTENSE/MASTER/HARD to unlock...
Or down, down, right, right L2+R2+X on the came screen

Um, does it count as a "spiritual sequel" if it's an actual... You know, sequel?
Also, yay for what I imagine will be cheesy-but-so-awesome Street Fighter anime.

Not an SF fan. But Studio 4C has become one of my favourite studios recently so I'll be looking out for it.

@Uzumaki_Kiba: A spiritual sequel to 2. As in it is in the game is more in the spirit of Street Fighter 2 than it is in the spirit of Street Fighter 3.

Just by Looking at the trailers shown at TGS Im more to looking forward to both the anime and the game. Just watching those trailers are just making me feel that February is a long way from now.

hey, isn't there a recent Street Fighter anime already in production? Not sure if i remember correctly, but theres this clip i saw a while back which has Akuma taunting Ryu to wake up his evil side, saying he's too weak or scared if he does not wants to embrace it.. with it ending when evil Ryu awakens... hmm...
anyone knows is this clip from a upcoming anime or just some intro to some game?

I've seen all the Street Fighter full-length animated features. And the video posted above is the best one in terms of animation quality and quality of the designs. The worst one would be Street Fighter Alpha. Street Fighter 2 has the best fight scenes, especially the Ryu/Fei Long fight, because it's so brutal and there's actually action. In Alpha, it's all that slow motion crap.

I agree with Kyte. Not only did the Street Fighter II animated film take itself fairly seriously in terms of story, character development, and believable action sets, but had one of the most memorable opening scenes in anime history. Ryu + Sagat + pwnage by Hadouken = pure awesome.

@BigBooBuddy: Best bit of the Ryu V Fei Long segment is their little talk after.
Fei Long is in enough bandages to be in the next Mummy movie, while Ryu only has a band aid on his cheek.
