Ever since I read the word "Piktura," I have had hopes that it will be Mario Paint 2.

The picture channel barely touched on the possibilities of the wiimote for drawing. There were some sweet minigames in WarioWare Smooth Moves where you hold the wiimote like a pencil and draw. It works well.

I have a sad feeling in my gut though.

Even if they 'deliver' on Thursday the game, whatever it might be, won't be out until next year anyhow. Personally I'm having fun with Groovin' Blocks (and eh well... I picked up the gravity game today which is sort of ok... not really that into it so far though). I haven't bought any packaged games for ages but whatever. If Nintendo don't announce anything much on Thursday? That's cool (especially if they do announce a new DS with interesting features).

Even if there's a WiiWare drought too, and the system sits around Collecting Dust(tm), personally I don't really care that much. Not like it takes up much space, and I turn it off at the plug so it doesn't use any electricity.

@lucasreis: Slightly, but who's counting? :-o Kid Icarus was a platformer, some stages vertical, some horizontal. It was developed alongside Metroid, so there are some similarities.

At the end of each 'world', there was a fortress to beat-- something *kind of* like the dungeons in the original Legend of Zelda. The final battle had you facing off against Medusa herself.

You can imagine the rest-- lots of crazy enemies to shoot, power-ups to buy, and experience to gain, etc. I'm firing this off so I'm sure someone will come along and correct something I've messed up, but you get the idea.

Not sure it's been mentioned but what about River City Ransom? Fun little beat-em-up. Really longshot though honestly, and highly doubt it'll be made but oh well, gotta throw out some other franchise that isn't aprt of the usual suspects.

Want a "dead" franchise that could be revived rather simply? StarFox. Just make one like the N64 version (with nice visuals obviously), online multiplayer or decent offline multiplayer at least, no gimmicky motions, and only use VEHICLES. Forget all that running around lameness. Also, a save system and a longer campaign would be nice, I hated having to tear through it all in one sitting.

Honestly I don't care for these fake "megatons", just give us something to look forward to and be done with it. I don't care if it's "hardcore" I just want it to be FUN.

Wow you just blew my mind. I haven't remembered Gumshoe EVER. I had that when i was like 7 on my regular nintendo and it was SO HARD!!

@Anarchist_Gamer: Incredibly hard game with a nice smattering of 'random' elements, like when the stupid diamonds would show up. I vaguely remember coming back to it when I was a few years older thinking it'd be easier, and being very 'WTF! wow this is hard!'

The Rare one has a long story behind it though. It only became a Star Fox game because Nintendo made them make it one.

Namco did a fine job with their game though. Probably because it was developed by the Ace Combat team.

I like it myself, but there are some on-foot missions that ruin the momentum. Overall, though, it is very true to the old styling. Actually takes the space shooter back to the old days by having you fight giant bugs.
