About Kotaku Australia
Kotaku and games. Games and Kotaku. They'd be one in the same in every lexicon on the planet if it were humanly possible. Whether it's the latest info on a new game, or hot gossip on the industry's movers, shakers and smashers, you'll find it all here and nicely packaged at Kotaku.
The Australian edition of Kotaku is focused on taking all this fantastic news and crafting it into a tasty treat for all you Aussies and Kiwis. Sure, you could mosey over to the US site, but you'd miss out on all the juicy gaming goodness that's relevant - and important - to you.
If you'd like to contact Kotaku with suggestions, comments, or product announcements, you can email us at tips@kotaku.com.au.
Kotaku Australia is published by Allure Media in association with Gawker Media.

Frequently asked questions
So, uh, what exactly is this 'blog' thing?
We'd love to say it's some magical technology developed in secret by Thomas Edison parallel to his work with electricity, but it wasn't. Essentially, we take the mess of info coming out of the games industry, be it about a new release, an interesting development, or something horridly hilarious, and compact it into a form you can digest with your eyes in a single bite. Or several, tinier bites if you happen to blink a lot.
We cover the latest platforms, including the PC, 360 and PS3, and we also find time to spread ourselves over the handhelds, and anything else that might be considered games-related. Not Solitaire on your phone, though.
Unless it's like, Shotgun Solitaire.
Anyhoo, all the freshest stuff appears at the top, but if you'd like to narrow your selection, a handy collection of topics can be found to the top left of the site.
Where does it all come from - the writing, that is?
Monkeys. Lots of monkeys. And typewriters. Sonic typewriters.
Well, that's how we imagined it'd be in our dreams, initially. What we ended up with is a crack team of gaming bloggers located around the world, positioned at strategic locations in order to absorb the maximum amount of information possible.
We asked them nicely to contribute to the incorporeal entity that is Kotaku so you get to enjoy all the flavours of gaming Earth has to offer without having to leave your home, or even enter orbit via railgun.
For the local angle, there's Logan. He ventures out every once in a while to talk shop with the native folk. If he discovers something of interest, you can be sure he'll write about it here.
Wait, what about the original Kotaku? Surely I’d just head on over there...
That's an excellent point, Mister Fancy Pants. But you'd be heading into the thick of content that isn't catered for the distinguished and articulate interests of Southern Hemispherians. That’s us, it is.
We think games are pretty alright. Awesome in fact, and we want to make sure Australia is kept in the loop on what's crucial.
We're also big on letting you have your say. Let's make this clear - it's our top priority to make sure you're heard. If you want to tell the likes of Sony or Microsoft here in Oz your point of view - then do it! We’ll do our best to let them know what you think.
If you want to check out the mothership, you can reach it by clicking the US Edition link at the top of any page.
Don’t the big guys just pay you to say stuff? Isn’t that how the whole journalism thing works these days?
In Opposite World, you'd be exactly right. Fortunately, here in reality, that's not how we operate. If we don't like something, we'll let you know. We're here to inform, not perform.
I totally have this game, that, you know, you'd so like, love and stuff...
Of course you do. And we're keen to check it out. The best thing to do is send us a brief email about what you have for us to look at, so we can compute it immediately, and get back to you on how best to cover it.
To be brutally honest, at Kotaku we’re all about the gossip. The hot tales, the sweet, sweet stuff that everyone wants to know but never does. If you have something you'd like to share, but you’re not exactly confident about letting us know who you are - no problem. Just send it in anonymously, and your identity will be safe.
Also know that if you ask us not to reveal your name and title, that's fine as well. We think you'll find we're pretty accommodating - we just want to keep everyone as up-to-date on games as possible.
Hey, I have this awesome video of my Level 70 Shadow Priest completely dominating at PvP. I was hoping you could post...
No.
Alright then. How about my BioShock speedrun?
Wait, what? Maybe. What’s your completion time?
Two days, twelve...
No.
So, is there a big entity that hovers above Kotaku Australia like a Zerg Overlord?
In a manner of speaking, yes. Kotaku Australia is published by Allure Media. We wouldn't say it looks like an Overlord though, more like a Terran Battlecrusier. Or even a giant floppy pancake, if pancakes could float.
