At Activate Asia 08, Activision Blizzard’s senior VP and MD Philip Earl agreed with this sentiment, stating that, with the exception of Australia and NZ, the two companies will have separate offices to handle their respective titles. As for us, Activision Blizzard handles it all – Call of Duty and World of Warcraft alike.

Yes, Guitar Hero: World Tour Will Feature Los Lobos’ La Bamba, Potential $AU 299 Price Tag
12:00PM Logan Booker | Judging from the massive appearance Guitar Hero: World Tour made at Activate Asia 08, there’s no doubt it’s going to give Harmonix’s Rock Band and Rock Band 2 a run for their money. Quality instruments, a decent song selection and a song editor and hero editor make for a tasty bundle.
But I’m sure you’re after specifics, so, here we go.
On release, two packs will be available: the complete bundle, which will come with a guitar, drums, microphone and copy of the game; and the guitar solo pack, which will have just the game and guitar. It was mentioned that individual instruments would be made available at a later date, starting with the guitar and progressing to the drum kit. More »

11:30AM Logan Booker | Last night I got back from Activate Asia 08, Activision’s annual Asia-Pacific conference for retail and media. The Activision Blizzard branding was in full force, from banners to name tags to bags. It was everywhere.
A few newsworthy nuggets emerged from the event, such as Activision Blizzard’s risk/market chart, which the company’s new senior vice president, the chocolate-coated Philip Earl, talked us through on the event’s second day.
The chart shows how Activision Blizzard perceives its upcoming titles. I’ve made a rather crude rendition of it above, so I don’t have to confuse myself trying to explain it. The diagram is a bit boring, but it’s the contents that made it exciting. More »
