Dancing With The Stars

11:16AM Michael McWhertor | It’s a challenge to find the most offensive aspect of Activision’s Dancing With The Stars for the Wii. Is it worth dumping on for being another piece of shovelware for Nintendo’s best-selling platform? Should we focus on mocking the marketing department for its blatant iPod advertising rip-off? Or do the purely pre-rendered backgrounds, which we can’t imagine are even marginally interactive, deserving of our bile? Oh, we just can’t pick favorites! It all sucks equally. More »

SoF: Payback Delayed In Oz?

1:49PM Logan Booker | With the US press release out on Activision Value’s attempt at a third instalment to Raven’s gory FPS series, I wasn’t at all shocked when the localised version found its way to me. There’s been a geysering artery’s worth of info in the last week or so (and beyond) regarding the shooter, so I almost didn’t read the release. But I’m glad I did. Check out this cheeky gem: Soldier of Fortune Payback will be available for the Xbox 360â„¢ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, and the PC. The game is scheduled for release in early 2008. What? 2008? Looks like Activision told a bit of a fib at Activate Asia. Reading the latest from the US on the game, it seems it’s still set for November over there. So, is this just another thing we’ll be missing out on because we’re Australian? Please, for the love of all things holy, stop piling it on! PS. We did get one thing over the States – RRPs. $80 for the Xbox 360, $90 for the PS3 and paltry $50 on PC. When did PC games get so cheap? You can read the full release after the jump. More »

Solider of Fortune: Payback

9:00AM Brian Crecente | I guess this is the ultimate proof that Soldier of Fortune: Payback is coming. Too bad it’s going to be a craptastic value game. Man, that really sucks. More »

Wow, Soldier Of Fortune Payback IS Real

10:20PM Luke Plunkett | Yesterday, Crecente had a bad case of the “can’t believes”. After seeing an awful-looking promo poster for a new Soldier of Fortune, he couldn’t believe Activision would rush something so shoddy to market in such a short space of time. Couldn’t happen. Shouldn’t happen. Thing is, it is! Kotaku Australia’s Logan has pinged us to let us know that yes, the game is real, and was quietly announced at Activision’s recent Activate Asia 2007 promo show. Why the lack of fanfare? It’s a budget game, being launched under the Activision Value label, and won’t feature either Raven Software or the series’ GHOUL body-separating tech. Sad.
