Soaking In Trauma Center’s New Blood

2:20AM November 22, 2007 | Mike Fahey

Many video game characters have died at my hand over the years, but never have I felt as bad about it as when I play a Trauma Center game. Not only do I lose a poor, innocent patient due to my clumsy attempts at surgery, but then the weak-willed doctors at my command fold like Dr. Folder of the Folding Commandos, quitting their professions forever and going into seclusion, never to know the love of another human being. This makes me feel bad. What makes me feel good, however, is the first real console version of Trauma Center on the Wii (Second Opinion was a port, so it doesn’t count), Trauma Center: New Blood. Atlus has brought in some fresh new doctors, performed some much-needed cosmetic surgery (which more than likely involved removing tumors), and delivered a deep and enjoyable way to develop your god complex. R-Type Tactics Coming Stateside?

1:31PM November 14, 2007 | Michael McWhertor

According to a historically reliable NeoGAF member, one who has access to Gamestop’s list of upcoming software releases, Irem’s R-Type Tactics is coming to North America courtesy of publisher Atlus. Rebranded R-Type Command, the game is said to be scheduled for a March 4, 2008 release date at an MSRP of $US 39.99. The game eschews the lightning fast reflexes needed to avoid enemy fire from Bido adversaries, instead offering up turn-based, hex-based strategic gameplay. You won’t control just one ship, but a fleet of space craft.

We’re waiting to hear back from Atlus on the matter to see if this rumour turns out to be true.
