It’s another one of those surprises we knew absolutely nothing about before hand! At Nintendo’s E3 press conference this morning, Animal Crossing Wii was revealed to a captivated audience who haven’t heard the dulcet tones of K.K. Slider in such a very long time. AC creator Katsuya Eguchi appeared on screen at the conference to announce the new title. “I wanted to create a software where players could feel like they are playing together if they are playing at different times”
Like other ANimal Crossing titles, the game has no required goals – a realistic world functioning on a 24-hour clock. Other new features involve a city you can visit with an auction site, and a chat room where players can talk using Wii Speak!
The fine folks over at N-Europe have gotten their hands on the latest issue of British Nintendo magazine NGamer, which contains some tasty information about the big N’s E3 presence. Not only does it contain yet another mention of the all-but-confirmed Animal Crossing for the Wii, it also suggests that the Punch-Out series will be making its triumphant return. Punch-Out Wii supposedly will use the Wii Balance Board for ducking and weaving, while maintaining punching controls similar to Wii Sports Boxing and Rhythm Boxing from Wii Fit. The mag also explained that according to their sources, Animal Crossing Wii has been finished for some time, and while it isn’t an MMO as previously rumoured it does utilise Wi-Fi sharing.
While AC Wii is almost a certainty, Punch-Out is still firmly planted in rumour-land. Even though it sounds perfect, I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high before Nintendo’s E3 press conference. Now if only they could find away to combine Animal Crossing and Punch-Out…
While nothing’s been confirmed, chances are pretty good that Nintendo will announce Animal Crossing Wii. Hey, it may not! We don’t know, but like we said, chances are good. In the latest issue of the UK’s official Official Nintendo Magazine, there’s an image of Animal Crossing for the magazine’s E3 promotion. A caption reads:
It’s Been A While! It’s time to revisit an old friend. How’s your village doing these days?
Pretty sure we’d be more surprised if Nintendo didn’t announce AC Wii at E3.
Maybe this is just a kwinky-dink. Who knows? Nintendo does! The 2008 Japanese Club Nintendo has a picture of Mario Kart Wii for April. And of course, Mario Kart Wii goes on sale in April. Taking this rubrick, let’s look at December, which shows a picture of…
