Dreamkiller is a first-person shooter starring a “punk rock chick psychologist” who projects herself into her patients’ dreams to cure their psychotic behaviour by killing their nightmares.
Kaplan, the makers of all those test preparation books, is teaming with Aspyr Media to create an SAT prep program for the Nintendo DS. Sure, the same title will also be made available for the PC and Mac (probably just like the stuff we’ve seen for years), but the flashcard form factor of the DS version makes it incredibly appealing.
Believe it or not, us Mac users occasionally play games on our computers. Yes, it’s a struggle, but always worth it in the end. For the few and proud playing Mac games, Aspyr Media has long been our support system, and has come through once again. Neverwinter Nights 2 for Mac will be shipping to North America next week. Aspyr is accepting pre-orders through their website now for $US 49.99. Now, Mac users don’t have to miss out on the PC RPG fun!
Yesterday we heard that Guitar Hero III for Mac and PC is on track for release on December 10 in the States, according to publisher Aspyr Media. I was curious as to whether the street date would be the same for Australia.
Turns out it’s not.
Try & Byte, the local distributor for Aspyr Media, got in touch today with the following info:
As far as they have told me, the ship date for GH3 (hybrid version) will be the 19th of December. Which is cutting it extremely fine for Christmas, so it may push out into 08.
Pricing has not yet been given to us either.
Not long after T&B contacted me, Activision replied to my email from yesterday. According to the publisher, the hybrid GH III is definitely slated for release in Australia next year. Looks like T&B’s assessment was correct.
Not sure what to make of this. I’m happy with GH III on 360, but I can understand diehard PC and Mac users being disappointed by this news. Maybe it’s time to buy a console?
That about sums it up. Aspyr, who are handling the publishing of the game for home computers, have announced that the Mac version of Activision’s bread-winner has gone gold, and will be shipping to retailers on December 10. The Mac version will include the PC version (it’s a hybrid bundle), as well as allow cross-platform online play between Macs and PCs. Sadly, Mac fans, the bundle will not include a sleek, stylish and minimalist all-white guitar. Sorry.
