Kirby is taking the step into the third dimension this week with a 3D Classics title devoted to the pink puffball. It’s not an entirely new 3D game, I’m sure that will come soon enough but for now you’ll have to make do with the NES version done up in 3D. Just be thankful it’s not a vertical shooter, we’ve got enough of those on the 3D Classics range.
It’s a portable-only adventure this week with the Wii getting neglected again, 3DS and DSi owners though get their pick of a couple titles, one old and one new.
Nintendo has dubbed this week’s update as Halloween themed. However, I still think last week was scarier when we got absolutely no games on the eShop. Why? This is a brand new system, brand new online store and it’s not doing to well. So what do you do? You ignore it for a week and let it get forgotten. That’s not the way to go about things and to think if Nintendo have this little content on the 3DS this early, never mind the Wii and DSi continuing to get ignored.
Every so often, the stars and the planets align and we get a killer weekend of updates, usually we’re not so lucky. This week though, what a killer. There’s a free Zelda, a classic Mario title and a brand new WiiWare title from the fine folks at Nnooo. There’s even some 3D trailers up on the eShop as well.
All of Nintendo’s consoles get a refresher this weekend, but at least two of them are something you might have played before. One is a retro classic, the other is popular iOS title.
It’s time to relax people, there are a couple of games this week. One is for the eShop and the other for WiiWare. But next week will be the motherload (hopefully) as the Ambassador NES titles should be delivered. At the very worst we’ll be getting at least one NES game.
But enough about next week, what about this week I hear you say!
Nintendo are known for redefining what gaming means and how it plays. Today Nintendo have rewritten the dictionary by changing the word ‘Classic’. Yes, this week sees the release of 3D Classics: Urban Champion and despite being a game that is essentially rubbish they’ve still decided to give it the 3D treatment. Good thing there’s at least something for Wii and DS owners to have a bash at.
There’s a grand total of one game to check out this week. It’s a Virtual Console title for the 3DS – so at least there’s something to play on it. DSiWare and WiiWare get absolutely nothing here in Australia.
