Man, I don’t want to say another word about the Mass Effect 3 ending, but these folks do — in fact they want 90 minutes worth. This is The Indoctrination Theory, and attempts to explain all perspectives on the ending. It’s pretty definitive.
It’s time to solve a mystery, or at least come up with a viable theory. Yesterday, executives mega-publisher Electronic Arts announces a bunch of financial numbers. They also say that they’ve delayed a “key game” from fiscal year 13 to fiscal year 14, which, for those who prefer to speak English, means they’ve delayed a “key game” from coming out by March 31, 2013 to some time after.
Mass Effect 3 became the game in the sci-fi series where BioWare finally opened up the relationship possibilities for players wanting to romance a character of the same gender, with characters Esteban Cortez and Samantha Traynor only available for wooing if you played as a male or female Commander Shepard.
BioWare has been running regular multiplayer bonus weekend events in Mass Effect 3 since March, but until now, PlayStation 3 owners had been unable to participate. An earlier statement from BioWare seemed to point the finger at an issue with approval on Sony’s end, leaving players hanging.
Some 38 additional countries now will have access to Star Wars: The Old Republic, all of them located in the Middle East or parts of Europe. EA today announced plans to extend the distribution in that hemisphere. Subscription prices will vary by country, EA said.
When Star Wars: The Old Republic became available last October, the big test it faced was showing an ability to pull away players from the World of Warcraft juggernaut. Neither company wants to discuss the tug-of-war in terms of raw numbers, but Blizzard’s developers have admitted to seeing a dip in subscriptions. What about BioWare, then?
