What’s worse than cheating? Cheaters. Earlier this week, we publicly shamed David L. for posting all our contest answers on some forum. We worked hard on those questions and had to scramble to make the contest once again fair — which we have done. We know we’re not perfect. We make mistakes (check our grammar). David L. isn’t perfect either, and he’s been brave enough to send me this:
Reminder incoming! We are totally giving away a BlackSite: Area 51 gaming PC from Alienware. The winner will also get an Area 51 t-shirt, an “eyeblack” patch, a copy of Midway’s Stranglehold PC and a copy of BlackSite: Area 51. Previously, we were just giving away the Area 51 machine, but now you get the game, too! Consider this deal sweetened. The computer is a $US 3,000 dollar machine, making this one of the most expensive things we’ve given away, so any bitching about the TOTALLY FREE AND AMAZING PRIZE will be met with the blunt end of the Ban Hammer.
Wanna win that computer? Read this. Do it. Contest closes to entries November 12th at midnight EST. Specs after the jump:

The contest is based on Crecente’s sadistic treasure hunts. Long-time readers will know what we’re talking about. Basically, we give you a clue about a post we’ve done, and then y’all must go find it. If you find the correct post, there will be another clue, which you’ll need to track down. And so on. This contest will have ten questions, or “Missions” as I call them. These missions are unnumbered, but if you are doing the contest correctly, they show flow into the next question, etc.
Anyone who posts answers on Kotaku or anywhere on the internet will be banned and made an example of. Here’s your first mission:
While Crecente wasn’t able to see out of his Halo 3 helmet, this guy was – and added an awesome visor. Thumbs up all around. Find him!
Send your answers, your address and ten correct links to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom. Specs and some very important info after the jump.

Spent literally hours putting this together, trying to make this as hard and difficult as possible. Remember, nothing is free, so if you want this pricey loot, get to work!

Eds Update: Quick note about the contest. Three things: Be sure to include your name and home address. Also, to enter this contest, you must be 18 years old and up. Also, if you are only sending us one link, you are wrong. Very, very wrong. Send us TEN links and correct answers.
Midway’s first person shooter with nods to its arcade heritage BlackSite: Area 51 has finally gone gold. Well, the Xbox 360 and PC versions did. The PlayStation 3 version follows the current Midway release schedule formula, giving owners of Sony’s console ample opportunity to weigh the review scores. The PS3 one should ship sometime in December. Mark and I found it surprisingly enjoyable, in an arcadey sort of way, when we played it at Games Convention this summer.
Blacksite: Area 51 ships on the twelfth of November, pitting it against Super Mario Galaxy, Assassin’s Creed and Kane & Lynch, among many, many others. Good luck, boys!
What do we love giving away more than games? Gaming systems. So, for our next contest we are giving away the computer version of Midway’s BlackSite: Area 51 plus (yes, plus!) an Area 51 machine from Alienware (geddit? Area 51). That’s right, our next contest will have a high-end gaming PC up for grabs. There’s more! The winner will also get an Area 51 T-shirt, an “eyeblack” patch and a copy of Midway’s Stranglehold PC. The computer is a $US 3,000 dollar machine, making this one of the most expensive things we’ve given away. Like, ever. Hit the jump for the machine’s specs.
Midway has been having some problems developing games for the PS3 alongside their Xbox 360 and PC versions. First we had Stranglehold PS3 get delayed, and now we’re hearing that Blacksite: Area 51 may be late, too. Midway Chicago’s studio head Mike Bilder worked on Stranglehold, and given the frequency of PS3 development issues, he thinks that workflows are going to change: I think a lot of people and a lot of focus as far as games that we have internally that are going to be multi-SKU are trying to put the PS3 out in front now, make that your lead SKU. And in the same way I think a lot of people put the PS2 as their lead SKU in the last hardware generation, and then Xbox came after.
So will this just create a whole new set of issues?
Once again we revisit the universal truth that nothing is quite as creepy as little girls singing. TimeShift knows it, and BlackSite: Area 51 knows it as well. It might have something to do with the whole extra capital letter in the middle of the title connection. It bares further investigating – just not by me. Little girls seriously creep me out. The saddest thing about this whole commercial? It made me think of my first real date. Take from that what you will.
According to an Opposable Thumbs tipster, Midway’s Blacksite: Area 51 for the PS3 is having development issues just as we’d seen on Stanglehold. The tipster said: “The PS3 version is experiencing issues and missed deadlines…Midway isn’t happy at all about the progress, and it’s a story I’ve heard over and over this year across the industry when it comes to the PS3 and cross-platform titles.
Opposable Thumbs astutely points out that it could be the PS3 Unreal 3 engine serving as a common thread between these delays, so this is potentially just more bad news for Midway, Sony and Epic. But hey, who wants ice cream? PS3 Blacksite plagued with development trouble, says insider [opposablethumbs]
