You don’t see them as much at E3 these days, but events like the Tokyo Game Show or Germany’s GamesCom are full of young women (and sometimes men!) wearing very little clothing while trying to sell you video games.
Over the weekend, the Tokyo International Anime Fair was held at Tokyo Big Sight. Appearing at the event were anime production companies, TV and film companies, toy and video game companies were in attendance.
The booth companion costume designers at Tecmo haven’t deviated too far from the norm for Tokyo Game Show 2008. Heels, short shorts and tube tops are being worn in spades at TGS, with a handful of exhibitors (Sony, for one) keeping it a bit classier on the total amount of less flesh revealed. Tecmo went for the industry standard “nearly naked” look, opting for an extra, gossamer thin layer of tacky, shimmering polyester negligee.
Let’s TGS. Like we said, this year’s Microsoft TGS booth is special. Not for the games, necessarily (OK, for the games), but for the fact that the company’s army of booth companions have new outfits! What’s better, they have two new outfits! It’s the megaton of (fashion) show so far. How do they shape up? Let’s. Find. Out.
With Microsoft redesigning their clothes for this year’s Tokyo Game Show “booth companions” it seems that a lot of other companies followed suit. My quick walkthrough of the halls netted me images of companions in cosplay, companions with yellow and red eyes and companions in what can only be described as red nighties.
