Buzz Aldrin doesn’t just like Mario. He loves Mario. Holds his hands. Upside down. Thinks he’s super-duper. Even follows him across the Atlantic, so the two can hook up at a European media launch event for Mario Galaxy. No doubt about it: Buzz is Mario MAD.

You’ve seen the pictures, now brace yourself for the bragging rights. Mario and famed spaceman Buzz Aldrin took a zero gravity flight to promote Super Mario Galaxy. How was it? Fabulous. Let Aldrin commence with the pillow talk:

Mario did excellent, just outstanding. Yeah, we were holding hands all the way and upside down and sideways. Super! Super duper Mario. Right?

Mario? Check. Septuagenarian? Check. Those are checklist items one and two for shilling a Wii game, according to the new Nintendo marketing philosophy. This time, the old dude bringing credible wrinkles is famed astronaut Edwin Eugene “Buzz” Aldrin who recently joined an underpaid chap in a Mario suit for a zero gravity flight to promote Super Mario Galaxy. The flight is quite similar to the one our own part-time plumber Mike Fahey enjoyed when he took to his digestive tract on a wild sky ride with Richard Garriott.
