So, What Old Capcom Game Do You Want Remade Next?

4:00PM Luke Plunkett | Capcom have gone a little remake mad. Bionic Commando Rearmed, Mega Man 9, they’re falling over themselves trying to put out new versions of old games. And now, they want your help. An innocent-looking post on the Capcom blog asks “what games do YOU think Capcom should revisit?”. Know that when a company PR man asks that question on a company PR blog, it’s not for the purposes of idle chit-chat. They really want to know. I would suggest you all head over and let your voice be heard, but instead, I’ll ask you not to, so as you don’t drown out the next sentence. More »

How Do Capcom Know When To Revive A Franchise?

6:30PM Luke Plunkett | Broad answer: they “evaluate the fanbase and see if there’s a market for it”. More specific answer: “Sometimes we see games on eBay, and that’s how you see what games people are willing to spend $AU 85.14 on”. That’s Capcom’s John Diamonon. Course, he’s quick to stress that’s not the only way they check, and it’s probably not even near the top three mthods they employ. But it sure is an interesting one. Probably more effective than the blood-stained letters I’ve been sending them for the last ten years, threatening/pleading for a new Captain Commando game.
