Capcom US posted a link to the Japanese site today with the headline “New Super Street Fighter IV Art and… A New Challenger?”, leading us to believe that’s exactly what Nakky is talking about. According to a translation of the post by Azrael from the Shoryuken forums, the post teases big news that will also be appearing in next week’s issue of Japanese video game publication Famitsu, with a promotional video going up on the Capcom site around the same time.

Yes, it’s an announcement of an announcement, but at least we have a nice picture to dissect between now and next week.

Those in Japan who actually go see Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li in theatres and stay for the entire movie, get a special treat. Think of it as a reward.

After the Chun-Li film ends, a Street Fighter anime starring schoolgirl Sakura will be screened. Animation house Studio 4C, who’s responsible for the Street Fighter IV in-game cutscenes, created the anime.

No word if the anime will be shown in Western theatres as well.

Kristin Kreuk is playing Chun-Li in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. With the movie nearing release, she’s stuck on promotional press junkets. Today, she speaks with Famitsu about the difference between her and Chun-Li.

“I think the most obvious differences lie in the physical appearance of the character”, she says in a video interview (link below). “I dont’ look like Chun-Li physically…I just…don’t“, she continues, as she gestures – perhaps out of frustration, perhaps out of longing – at her slender frame.
