12:15PM David Wildgoose | We love to hear your comments, we really do. We also have to moderate them. The thing is, it can be a real hassle doing this when we have to wade through the same comment from the same person five, ten or more times. So, when you leave a comment and it doesn’t appear straight away, it’s not because it didn’t work. It’s because we haven’t yet approved it. Most of the time we’ll have it published within minutes, but sometimes it can take a bit longer.

A Call to Ban
1:00AM Brian Crecente | I woke this morning to find Kotaku at a crossroads, one peopled with a mob. It seems there’s a decision to be made: Do we want Kotaku to be represented by the chatter of a thousand voices, people trying to be heard over one another, many not stopping to think before they talk. Or do we want to cull the crowd, reduce the noise so our many intelligent readers can still be heard over the roar and those who speak take the time to think, to read before doing so. It’s disheartening to think that it has come to this, that unless we’re talking about the relatively safe topics of consoles and their direct by-products there can’t be intelligent discourse on Kotaku. And I don’t understand how we’ve arrived here. More »The One and Only Galactic Multi-Tap
12:00AM Brian Ashcraft | Stephen King Weighs in on Video Game Violence Comment by: bzr_wzr Nominated by: Hayko Just my two cents: The amount of condescension and disrespect here is just unreal sometimes. People with differing values and opinions are not automatically dumb, idiots, morons, fascists, anarchists, or otherwise-negatively connotated. They simply come from different frames of reference. People should respect the opinions of others, unless they are presented in a manner that is just outright rude, hostile, or disrespectful. People on both sides of the argument here have presented valid opinions, and simply writing them off because you happen to disagree with them is ultimately a disservice to yourself and your future as a raitonal human being, not to mention your peers. And, again, I’d like to reiterate that this applies to people on both sides of the issue (or any issue, really). More »
