Max Payne doesn’t wear tights. But, if insanely fast reflexes, deadly marksmanship and an ability to swill the worst whisky around count, you could argue that the gritty NYPD detective of Rockstar Games’ shooters has superpowers. Powers or not, he’ll be appearing in a new series from Marvel Comics which is being written by Rockstar’s Dan Houser and Remedy’s Sam Lake.
Dan Houser must really, really like In Cold Blood. According to The New York Observer, one of the minds behind the best-selling Grand Theft Auto just dropped a mob-boss-worthy load of cash on the one-time abode of Truman Capote.
The dead walk the earth in the the zombie add-on for Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare. While zombies are tres passe, Rockstar thinks it can put an original spin on them. Here’s why:
Strauss Zelnick may be adamant about not announcing the next Grand Theft Auto, but Dan Houser, in a lengthy interview with The Times of London, so casually mentions work on the next GTA that it sounds rather inevitable.
Speaking of movies, forget about seeing one based on Grand Theft Auto. The Los Angeles Times, examining Ubisoft’s and Microsoft’s entries into filmmaking, went asking why Rockstar hasn’t thought of the same thing.
The Houser brothers (and other top Rockstar personnel) are, no doubt, already rich. Filthy rich. But today it was announced they’ve all become a lot richer.
