Relic Waging Endless War On Humanity With Dawn Of War 2
3:20PM Luke Plunkett | VG247 are reporting that Relic are already hard at work on Warhammer: Dawn of War 2. Makes sense. The first – and its legions of expansion packs – are the best Warhammer games since Space Hulk, and really succeeded in bringing the franchise to life. Still, if true, the good news is tinged with a little sadness: I was really hoping Relic would be doing Homeworld 3 instead (though, hey, they might be doing both!) Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War – Soulstorm Demo Out Now
11:00AM Logan Booker | Where do all these expansions keep coming from! I don’t think there’s another RTS in history with as many additions as Relic’s Dawn of War. Kudos to THQ and the developer for keeping the game fresh for so many years.
Actually, I can’t begin to imagine how hard it is to balance nine different sides – seven from the original games and previous expansions, plus the Sisters of Battle and the Dark Elder that come with Soulstorm. Madness.
You can grab the 1.2GB monstrosity from Internode Games Network, among other sites.
The game proper is due out sometime in March this year.

10:33AM Logan Booker | After a rocky start with the launch of Half-Life 2, Steam has matured from a slow piece of crap to the premiere online distribution service on the Internet. From Ubisoft to id Software, everyone wants to share in the potential of Valve’s hard work (and tears, I’d imagine).
THQ recently joined the party, only to quickly deny Australian and Kiwi users the ability to purchase and download their games. If you check out the Steam knowledge base, you’ll find the following statement attached to all of THQ’s games, including Company of Heroes, Dawn of War and Full Spectrum Warrior:
This game is not available for purchase through Steam in Australia or New Zealand.
Feel free to speculate as to the reasons behind THQ’s decision while we chase an official answer, but for now, Oz Kotakuite Ross, who sent in the heads-up, has his own theory:
In what I can only assume is a move by these publishers to ensure that AU/NZ consumers have to resort to retail given the favourable exchange rate between the US and AU dollar.
