Crossovers happen in comics all the time, where characters stumble into worlds that look radically different and meet alternate versions of themselves. Such a thing probably won’t happen with the kid-friendly Lego Batman 2 and the Dark Knight’s ultra-violent exploits in Batman: Arkham City.
As controversial as it’s been, DC Comics’ upcoming prequel to the Watchmen hold have also piqued the interest of comics fans everywhere. The book I’m most looking forward to is Minutemen, written and drawn by Darwyn Cooke. The lives of the first generation of costumed heroes — who were in a team called the Minutemen — in the Watchmen universe were only hinted at in the original masterpiece and this series will show more of their adventures.

Shifting to a free-to-play model yesterday, DC Universe Online opened the gates to the freeloading hordes. More than 120,000 signed up for the MMO said John Smedley, the president of Sony Online Entertainment. That figure’s for the PC, though. No word yet on PS3 enrollments.
