Speaking to Eurogamer, a THQ spokesperson said that the latest DAH game would only be an Xbox exclusive in North America – due to the company being unable to finish the PS3 version by the games early release date in that territory.

“Destroy all Humans: Path of the Furon will be released on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 formats on February 13th 2009 across Europe,” said the THQ person.

Odd.

Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon is now an Xbox 360 exclusive. Shacknews confirmed today that the game that the PlayStation 3 version has been quietly canceled, with THQ spokespeople citing “development issues.”

It’s not the first time THQ has pointed to problematic PS3 development with Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. Late last year, THQ delayed both Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon and Frontlines: Fuel of War, with the senior producer of the latter pointing to Unreal as part of the problem.

Frontlines producer Joe Halper told GameSpot then that “the Unreal Engine has some challenges with the PS3—you’ll see with other developers—it’s kind of a little late in the game with Epic, which is unfortunate.” The PlayStation 3 version of Frontlines was ultimately canceled by THQ in January alongside the PlayStation 2 version of Destroy All Humans!: Big Willy Unleashed.

This month sees the largest addition to the Xbox Originals program for the Xbox 360 ever, with a more than 61 games hitting the service on September 15th. Of course all but one of those games is part of Crave’s Intellivision Reborn compilation – which incidentally failed to spark a rebirth of the Intellivision – but if we’re going to get technical about things than none of those even count, having not originally appeared on the Xbox. So, a whole slew of Intellivision Games of dubious quality, and one excellent alien invasion title in THQ’s Destroy All Humans, a game that received the coveted Fahey award for Best Use Of Zim in a Non-Zim role.

Thanks to Mustapha for pointing out the new additions.

Pandemic’s moving out of its Brisbane studio, and needs to find a home for this custom-made alien saucer. The starting price is a hefty $1199, though the listing says this is to pay for it to be taken down from the company’s lobby and placed on the back of a truck.

Wondering what you could do with your own Destroy All Humans-themed UFO? Pandemic’s Rob Davis supplied us with the following suggestions:

* Fill it with ice and drink beer out of it
* Children’s Play area (safety not guaranteed)
* Two Words: UFO Jacuzzi

I’d go with #1, but that’s just me. Path of the Furon, de Blob and Frontlines: Fuel of War, citing “quality.” The trio have been moved out of the first quarter of 2008, into an unspecified window in the company’s 2009 fiscal year. That fiscal year happens to start April 1, 2008, for the record, so don’t . Also, in the interest of further clarification, I should mention that only the PlayStation 3 version of Frontlines has been pushed back, with the Xbox 360 edition of the war game still on target. Shocking, isn’t it?

Corporate sadness and apologetic execs at the official release.
