Devil May Cry Guns In Airsoft Replica Form!

Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 11:00 PM on August 4, 2008

Look! Check out what Hobby Media discovered at this year's Wonder Festival: Airsoft pistol versions of the guns from Devil May Cry carries! That's right, here are pellet-shooting replicas of Dante's swish Ebony & Ivory firearms. Unlike those guns, these don't have unlimited ammo. Still pretty neat.

Resident Evil And Devil May Cry Comics On The Way

Posted by Mike Fahey at 12:20 AM on July 30, 2008

As I've said before, DC's WildStorm imprint is slowly becoming THE video game comic book label of choice. They've got World of Warcraft (an excellent series btw), Gears of War, the recently announced Mirror's Edge, and now they're adding two of Capcom's hottest properties to the list. That's right, Resident Evil and Devil May Cry are the latest video game properties to get the WildStorm treatment, though the company has already delved into the Resident Evil mythos in the past.

"We're ecstatic that Resident Evil is returning to WildStorm, where we have already established deep roots into the mythos of this world," said Hank Kanalz, Vice President/General Manager for WildStorm. "We can't wait to continue, and bring a freshness and excitement to the property to match the amazing things they are doing with the game."

Details on creative teams, launch months, and storylines are still forthcoming. This needs to stop. As a recovering weekly comic book addict, combining comics and video games makes it far too easy for me to justify those weekly comic shop visits. Have mercy!

Devil May Explode BAM! BOOM! POW!

Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 9:00 PM on July 2, 2008

These fireworks were spotted by Kotakuite rrockshow182 in Missouri, and it looks like Dante is moonlighting as a firecracker model. Lucky him. rrockshow182 asks: "Think capcom will cut me in on the lawsuit?" Dunno! But even fireworks makers should know that if you play with fire, you get burned (and shit starts blowing up.) Hit the jump for a better look at the Dante-works.

GameTraders Carillon To Explode With Sales, Midnight MGS4 Launch

Australian Post Posted by Logan Booker at 12:00 PM on June 11, 2008

Wait, so let me get this straight. Not only is the GameTraders in Carillon, WA having a midnight launch for Metal Gear Solid 4 (yes, it's available tomorrow folks), but the store is currently selling brand-new copies of Devil May Cry 4 and Frontlines: Fuel of War on Xbox 360 for $20. $20! That's damn cheap.

As for MGS4, the midnight launch will be held at the Reading Cinema in Belmont Forum. The event kicks off at 9PM, and GT will be selling the game for $99.95 (RRP $119.95). Maybe not as cheap as an import, but probably among the cheapest prices in Australia.

Devil May Cry Creator Doesn't See 3D Action Game Evolution

Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 4:00 PM on May 26, 2008

3D action games haven't evolved? Hideki Kamiya, the brains behind defining 3D action game Devil May Cry doesn't really seem to think so! Over on the official Bayonetta site, Kamiya blogs:

How have 3D action games evolved since we blazed a new trail with DMC? Can you even go so far as to say they've evolved?
Seven years ago, we put everything we had into Devil May Cry. But since then, like the hands of time for the 3D action genre were frozen at that moment, it seems like the drive to push users further has stopped. There is so much more that should be done now. And we are the only ones who seem up to the task. This is the spark that has lit the fire within me.

Devil May Cry... Darts?

Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 8:00 PM on April 14, 2008

Darts? Dangerous. Devil May Cry darts? Extra dangerous. Reader Landon writes:

I was at some game center/bowling/darts place and I saw these Devil May Cry darts in the window. I'm a huge DMC fan, so I would've bought them if they were cheaper, but I couldn't justify the $US 25 price tag.
Obviously the only justification for Devil May Cry darts is that they are DMC darts. Just think of the combo insanity!

You Know You Want Official Devil May Cry Cardigans

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 7:30 PM on March 28, 2008

The Devil May Cry series has been a lotta things, but masculine is not one of them. Something about all those exposed chests and red coats and wonderful haircuts. So it's poignant that the official Devil May Cry range of menswear - due to be released in Japan next month - will forgo hoodies and caps in favour of gear including a couple of exquisite cardigans and leather-pocketed polo shirts. With tiny, elegant belts attached, of course. They'll come in two styles (Dante and Nero), and at a price only the most fashion-conscious Capcom aficionado could bear to pay, with the polos priced at USD$75 and the cardigans at USD$105 (Nero) and USD$125 (Dante). Looks a lot, but for the convenience of having a belt on your shirt, it's totally worth it.

Devil May Cry 4 Anime Does Exist

Posted by Michael McWhertor at 2:51 PM on February 5, 2008

Best Buy doesn't lie, as the threat of the Devil May Cry anime's cancellation truly has ended. An anonymous employee has provided us with photos of the new ADV Films discs in hand, complete with Best Buy price tags and manufacturer labels, definitive proof that the publisher has made good on its release. We wrote last week that the Capcom licensed series was one of many ADV titles whose future was in doubt after the publisher dropped dozens of upcoming releases from its web site, but it appears DMC is good to go. Thanks for the heads up, anonymous.

Best Buy Ad Lists Devil May Cry Anime

Posted by Flynn De Marco at 5:00 AM on February 4, 2008

bestbuyad.jpg Although the rumor was circulating last week that the Devil May Cry anime was facing cancellation, this week's Best Buy Ad has a picture of the DVD listing it at $US 19.99. The ad also claims that the disc will contain twelve episodes but seeing as these things get printed long before the actual delivery date, this may have been done before the rumored cancellation. It still lists the release date of Feb. 5 and the required disclaimer that the date is subject to change. If you're feeling lucky, you can try to pre-order it here at Best Buy or here at Amazon, but just be aware that your money may soon be coming back to you. Or you could always just get store credit and use it to purchase the first and second seasons of Perfect Strangers which comes out the same day. Come on, that cousin Balki is a hoot!

Devil May Cry Animated Series Out In February

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 4:30 PM on December 8, 2007

dante.jpgCapcom have announced that Dante and co.'s debut on the effeminate, over-sized sword-and-gun-wielding animated scene is nearly upon us. To tie in with the launch of Devil May Cry 4, the first volume of the DMC animated series will be released in the US by ADV films on February 5. It'll be $26.96, or if you'd prefer to fork out for something with a less puzzling price point, it comes bundled with the special edition of the game.
