Colleague Shares The Trauma Of The Southern Tornadoes

Tiffany Nevin, news editor at GamingAngels.com (we’ve featured her work before) lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Her neighbourhood and much of the rest of the American southeast has been mauled by tornadoes, claiming the lives of more than 200 people. Yesterday, another tornado ripped through her neighbourhood. She shot this video an hour after it passed.

Kinect-Rigged Robot Could Help With Future Quake Recovery

An earthquake fixed attention and sympathy this week on New Zealand, where more than 100 died and more than 200 still are missing. Authorities probing the rubble surrounding Christchurch find some buildings too unsafe to enter. A Kinect-enabled robot, developed by British researchers, could help in such situations.

Reggie Not That Keen On Disaster: Day Of Crisis

Ever wonder why Disaster: Day of Crisis dropped off the map? Might be because it sucks. That’s what Reggie’s worried about, telling IGN that “he doesn’t think Disaster is a $50 game”. Partly because the voice-over work and audio is “laughable”. Good news for Americans is that Europe is being used as a guinea pig; if the game does well there (where it’s already out), it’ll be released in the US – presumably for less than $50 – if not, it won’t be. Good to see Europe taking one for the team on this one!
