Square Enix passed us the box art and a batch of new screens for Front Mission Evolved today, including at least one shot of a mech that seems to be joyously completing an upbeat dance routine. What won’t those giant robots do?
Is DC Comics’ Justice League getting a video game adaptation to go along with the George Miller directed, big budget feature film?
Square Enix has announced a spring European release for third-person giant robot shooter Front Mission Evolved, releasing a new trailer that adds some personality to the teaser seen at last year’s Tokyo Game Show.
When we learned that The Collective—now Double Helix—had been tasked with Silent Hill V development at E3 last year, we wondered “What about Harker, that original vampire kicking game they’re working on?” Since we’ve heard just shy of nothing on Harker for nearly a year and Silent Hill V was just recently rechristened Silent Hill: Homecoming, a report from GameSpot that the team has essentially killed the game doesn’t surprise.
“Killed” is more politically correctly described as being put on “permanent hiatus”, but it’s rare for these projects to be resurrected. As long as they don’t muck up the next Silent Hill, we’ll forgive this cancellation of a game that we weren’t particularly interested in anyway.

Merger powers activate! The developers formerly known as Shiny and The Collective are taking the shape and form of Double Helix, as the combined studios have joined together to form a singular “large-scale, multi-platform licensed games” developing entity. You may not know them by name, but you’ve surely played (or derided) some of their games. Shiny was responsible for things like The Matrix: Path of Neo, Earthworm Jim and MDK, with The Collective handling dev work on Mark Ecko’s Getting Up and Silent Hill V.
Now, when Silent Hill V ships and you hate it with every fibre of your being, you’ll know who to curse! The more you know…
