The DSi XL’s larger size, jumbo touch pen, bigger screen and refined old people colours (Wine Red?) made it seem like the DSi XL is targeted at old people. That’s not necessarily true, says Nintendo.

The DSi LL, (DSi XL in the West) is the latest addition to the hugely successful Nintendo platform. “LL” is the Japanese equivalent of “XL”, or “extra large”. But is bigger really better?
When the DSi LL launched, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata pointed out that the portable’s larger 4.2″ LCD screens meant that it was easier to watch others play.
