Obama Campaign: Put Down Those Wii-motes And Vote!

Taking a page from the Wii Play playbook, Sony is going to bundle one of its more popular upcoming games, LittleBigPlanet, with a DualShock 3. It'll do it in Japan anyway, hoping that the Japanese video game consuming public will be awed by the woolen cuteness of Sackboy and bring some vibrating solenoids into their workaday lives. Price is just 7980 yen, about $79 in increasingly worthless U.S. dollars.
For the PlayStation 3 plus LittleBigPlanet bundle box, please hit the jump.
PlayStation Portable owners, you're about to get a bit more value our of your copy of Resistance: Retribution. If you also own a copy of Resistance 2 for the PlayStation 3 — and if you're actually going to grab Retribution, there's a good chance you'll have one — connecting your PSP to the PS3 will "infect" your copy of Retribution.
Sony is adding rumble support to the PSP, courtesy of the DualShock 3. Using the new "PSP Plus" feature in games like Resistance: Retribution, owners of both the PSP and PlayStation 3 will be able to forego the portable platform's analogue nub for a better control experience.
The Xbox 360 DualShock? The PS3 Xbox 360 Controller? Over at Xbox-Scene Forums, moderator RDC has modded an Xbox 360 controller into a PS3 controller, writing: "The D-pad, Select, PS, Start, Square, Triangle, Circle, Cross, L1/R1 and L3/R3 buttons are all wired up right now and working, as are the LEDs for showing which controller it is". So, yes, this Frankencontroller will work with a PS3. And if that wasn't enough, RDC did the same in reverse by modding a DualShock 3 into an Xbox 360 controller. Take a look after the jump.

Is there stock of the Playstation 3 Dual Shock 3 controller in the country? I would say this package, which arrived on my front door not long ago, would suggest a "Yes".
I look forward to putting my SixAxis into retirement. Now I just need to get a second one so my other SixAxis doesn't get jealous. Looks like I'll be waiting until the 24th to do that.

Tipster Shayne says the EB Games has a deal going where you can buy a SixAxis PS3 controller, and for an extra $20, pick up a copy of F1: Championship Edition, Genji, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Motorstorm or Resistance: Fall of Man. Not exactly a knee-trembling line up, but not horrible either.
Shayne reckons that Sony's clearing stock for the Dualshock 3. Considering we have word that a number of other retailers are offering a similar bundle, I'd say it's a fair assumption. The decision you'll have to make is whether a controller plus a game is worth more than a controller that shakes semi-erotically.

A product listing over at local retailer Topshop shows an April 24 Oz release date and $99.95 price tag for the PS3's new Dual Shock 3 controller. This factoid was spotted by the gents at PALGN.
Great news if it's true... I guess. But a hundred bucks for a controller? I know the pricing on games is insane here, but now hardware as well? You should probably hit up Play-Asia and get it for $30 less.

Japan are enjoying their DualShock 3s, the US are about to enjoy their DualShock 3s, I'm definitely enjoying my DualShock 3...but what about poor old Europe? Are they to be hoisted upon their well-worn cross yet again, atop which lies a tattered plate with the inscription "Forever Late?" Probably. Sony Europe have "no word" on when the controller will be arriving in the old world, which has no doubt instantly cost them a few thousand sales as impatient PS3 owners pony up and import the (inevitably cheaper) American model.
