Dynasty Warriors 6 PC Demo Is Go

3:20AM October 22, 2008 | Mike Fahey

Dynasty Warriors 6 for the PC isn’t scheduled for stores until November 18th, but those with a little bandwidth to spare can download a 320MB demo of the game today via the nice folks at Filefront and Fileplanet. The system requirements for the game are relatively modest, with the PC version sharing more in common with the PlayStation 2 version than the more resource intensive PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. You’ll need at least a 1.6GHz Pentium 4 with a 128MB video card, and honestly if you don’t have those you’re probably not too concerned about PC gaming.

Hit the jump for the full system requirements, or click the links above to snag the demo now.

Dynasty Warriors 6 Coming To PC, PS2

3:40AM August 16, 2008 | Mike Fahey

Aren’t you supposed to release the game on earlier-generation consoles and *then* release it on the more powerful ones? KOEI gets things ass-backwards, but PlayStation 2 stalwarts won’t mind as the company announces Dynasty Warriors 6 for the PS2 and PC, due out November 18th. While the PC version will be similar to the original release, the PS2 game will ship as a massive two-disc collection, which includes the full original release along with new “Musou” mode stories, new weapons, five new stages and ten new scenarios.

Long live the PlayStation 2!

Which Dynasty Warriors is Better: PS3 or 360?

7:37AM November 15, 2007 | Brian Ashcraft

So Dynasty Warriors 6 hit Japanese PS3s and Xbox 360s. People have really been really been looking forward to this game! But which version is better? Side-by-side comparison time! For the game’s movie scenes, the PS3 version is clearer, and things like hair and skin are crisper. Also, the PS3 rendered clouds aren’t as blocky. What’s more, the Xbox 360 version loads slightly slower than the PS3 version. In-game battle footage (above) looks roughly the same; however, the Xbox 360 does render the night stages a little “darker.” The So, there are differences! Small ones. Japan Gets Dynasty Warriors/40GB PS3 Bundle

6:30PM October 10, 2007 | Luke Plunkett

The Japanese 40GB PS3 news just will. Not. Stop. It’s been announced today that Dynasty Warriors fans who are hanging onto their PS2s are the enemy. To entice them to get with the program, they’ve got the offer of purchasing a Dynasty Warriors 6/40GB PS3 bundle, which includes a white 40GB PS3, Dynasty Warriors 6 and a whole bunch of nifty Dynasty Warriors stuff like character art folders and dog tag-looking things. The whole package will cost Â¥49980 ($US 426), which is exactly Â¥10000 ($US 85) more than the standalone 40GB PS3. Nice swag, then, but definitely not cheap swag. 『真・三國無双5』の発売日が2007å¹´11月11日に決定! 新モデルのプレイステーション3との同梱パックも登場![Famitsu] More »

Dynasty Warriors 6 Hands-on Impressions

5:00PM September 21, 2007 | Kotaku US Edition

As one would guess, any title marked as the sixth in a series probably isn’t going to offer a whole new ballgame, despite Dynasty Warriors 6 adding swimming, climbing and destroying walls to the well-worn mix. In the demo level no swimming was to be had, but I did get to break a wall, which was sort of not that thrilling. Killing hundreds of guys with a combo that stretched across most of the stage was fairly engaging, on the other hand—but aside from the endlessness of the combo, that’s the series’ admittedly formulaic bread and butter in the first place. Graphics-wise, it’s definitely easy on the eyes, even if it’s not the prettiest game out there (I played the 360 version, for the record). Overall, it’s fun—definitely familiar, but definitely fun. Dynasty Warriors 6 Screens

5:40AM September 20, 2007 | Mike Fahey

Chapter 6 in the never-ending saga of the Dynasty Warriors is heading for Japan in two short months, and Koei wants to be sure everyone knows how pretty it is, and it is indeed pretty. This version will sway from the DW formula, letting characters swim, climb, destroy walls, and use the new renbu system to pull off unlimited combos, but really all I am concerned with is killing massive amounts of ancient peoples. Witness warriors Zhao Yun and Lu Xun doing just that in the gallery below!
