There’s quite a few fan-generated homages to Bioware’s sci-fi universe out on the interwebs, but surprisingly few use the twist that “Assignment” does. Featuring two Alliance operatives named Hale and Meer, the clip by Sneaky Zebra Productions lets players choose between alternate endings pegged to Mass Effect’s signature good-guy Paragon or kind-of-a-jerk Renegade behaviour poles.
As far as fan films go, this is some Hollywood-quality stuff. Produced by Northern Five, this fan film captures the spirit of Left 4 Dead and has some fantastic production values to boot. Stick it out to the six minute mark and you’ll see that it takes a pretty amazing twist and becomes the kind of zombie game that I wish actually existed.
This fan-made Battlefield 3 movie is impressive in that they’ve got some realistic-looking gear and capture the little nuances of the game perfectly.
Last week, a very slick-looking trailer for a Left 4 Dead fan flick appeared online. It set a very sombre, serious tone.
