Internet Complains, Forza 2 DLC Discounted

12:20PM Luke Plunkett | Let’s recap. Forza 2 DLC is announced, Forza 2 DLC is criminally expensive, and the regions of the internet that care about such things get a little huffy. Which is a problem for Turn 10 and Microsoft, because those huffy regions are the only ones that would actually pay for their DLC. Today, then, we get an announcement that the pack’s been discounted from 600 points ($Us 7.50) to 400 points ($US 5.00). Complainers of the world, hold hands and smile, for today, the day is yours. New Forza 2 Track Hits 360s, Wallets On Friday

2:15PM Luke Plunkett | Turn 10 have just announced that some Forza 2 DLC will be hitting on Friday (October 26). Included will be four “variations” of Japan’s Twin Ring Motegi course, which in English means four different ways of racing around the same track. How much will said track cost you? Oh, around 600 Microsoft points ($US 7.50). Oh my. As much as that price-point screams compelling, we’re going to have to pass. Turn 10 on Forza 2’s new DLC track [GameSpot] More »

How Will Bungie’s Departure Affect Turn 10?

1:06PM Michael McWhertor | It won’t, says Turn 10 Studios (big) boss man Alan Hartman. The developer of Forza Motorsport 2 and adoring child to providing parent company Microsoft isn’t planning on going independent any time soon, says the studio manager. According to Hartman’s in-company interview, the guys at Turn 10 seem pretty content working for Microsoft, who they say has nurtured a good environment for them to build one of the strongest racing franchises this generation. Plus, Hartman’s not interested in doing the necessary paperwork. With the recent shake-up of internal development studios at FASA and Bungie, plus the snatching away of two third party developers to third party publishers, the Xbox crowd may be worried that Turn 10 has their eye on the door. Hartman’s pretty clear, saying of the Bungie deal that it’s a “win-win situation as far as I can tell, but not one I’m very interested in.” A Turn 10 Introduction… [Forza Motorsport] More »

Microsoft Gives Away Two Games With 360s

11:58PM Brian Crecente | Microsoft this morning confirmed part of the bundle rumour that’s been ravaging the Internet for weeks: All Xbox 360s and Xbox 360 Elites will now come with free copies of Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, a $US 90 value. Better still the price for the consoles will not be going up, which is very much like a price drop in my mind. According to the press release, posted after the jump, both the bundled 360 (at $US 350) and the bundled Elite (at $US 450) will be available by the end of the month. The fact that this is called the Holiday Bundle, makes me think it’s not going to last. So if you’re in the market for the 360 now might be a good time to jump on board. More »
