The cheekily titled “game jam” dedicated to the weird and occasionally brilliant ideas of the twitter persona Peter Molydeux continues to grow. What started as a goof on twitter quickly became a San Francisco event, which expanded to New York and the UK and possibly even convinced the real Peter Molyneux to attend.
Yesterday, there arose a game jam that will turn Peter Molydeux‘s wacky game ideas into real, playable games. Since then, things have… escalated.
As you may have noticed, myself, Tracey and Katie spent a large part of the weekend at Game Jam in Melbourne and Sydney. We were all blown away by the projects we saw and, now that you can play them, we thought it might be worth putting together a quick selection for you to check out!
In case you didn’t notice, over the weekend myself, Tracey and Katie Williams were jammin’. Not in the Bob Marley sense, or the ‘stewing fruit in sugar’ sense, but in the Game Jam sense. We observed as over 200 developers in Melbourne and Sydney created incredible video games within a 48 hour period.
Earlier this week you may have noticed that registrations for Game Jam in Melbourne were open. Now we thought it timely to remind you that Sydney’s Game Jam team has done the same. We actually attended last year’s Game Jam in Sydney and had a blast, so we’d totally recommend trying to attend if you have any interest in game development.
