Godzilla Contest Winner!

What a contest! It was hard enough for us to pick six finalists. But you guys picking a winner? Even harder. We’ve tallied up the votes, and finalists #5 and #6 rrode it right down to the wire. In the end, #6′s use of a pooch proved too much for #5′s use of the can (and slippers!), so Kerry, congratulations. Shoot us an email at kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom and we’ll get you your winnings. To the unlucky finalists, your consolation of prize of INTERNET FAME should already be in the mail. Thanks again to everyone who entered!

Vote For Your Favourite Godzilla

Crunch time. As in, it’s time to vote in our Godzilla contest. We’ve picked six finalists from the countless entries, and trust us: narrowing it down to six was really, really, really hard. On offer for the victor is a copy of Godzilla Unleashed (on the system of their choosing), a limited edition Godzilla poster and INTERNET FAME. Runners-up will get no swag, but they’ll still get the fame. Just not as much. So here’s what we need you, readers, to do: submit ONE comment below saying who you vote for. Chit-chat or double-votes will get your ass banned. Voting will close at midnight Sunday, EST, and we’ll post the winner early next week.

Godzilla Contest

We’re giving away a copy of Godzilla Unleashed (on PS2, DS or Wii, up to you). We’re also giving away a limited edition Godzilla poser. Well, not giving them away. You’ve gotta earn ‘em. And the only way to earn ‘em is to pretend you’re Godzilla. Do things Godzilla would do. Like Steve here. Steve’s done what Godzilla would do. He’s also followed our conditions of entry to the letter, namely included a sign that says KOTAKU, taking a photo of his deeds, including his name and sending it off to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom.

Think you can do better than Steve? Entries close on December 19. Godzilla Unleashed [Official Site]

Godzilla Contest Reminder

We’re still giving away a copy of Godzilla Unleashed (on PS2, DS or Wii, up to you). You’re still going to have to earn it. How do I earn it, we hear you ask? Simple. Pretend you’re Godzilla. Do things Godzilla would do. Like Kotakuite Kiriphii has here, terrorising the Mushroom Kingdom like it was nobody’s business. Just make sure you hold up a sign while you’re doing it. And make sure that sign says KOTAKU. Then make sure you take a photo of all that, because just telling us you did it won’t cut it. Once you’ve got all that sorted, email it off to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom.

You’ve got until midnight EST on December 19. Get cracking. Godzilla Unleashed [Official Site]

We’re not giving it away, you’ve gotta earn it. Alright, on to the contest: Do your best imitation of Godzilla. Hold up a sign. Take a picture of your self. Send it to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom. That’s it! INTERNET FAME HAS NEVER BEEN SO SIMPLE.

We’re wrapping this one up on December 19th at midnight EST. Good luck! Godzilla Unleashed [Official Site]

Godzilla: Unleashed’s Mothership

Pipeworks producer Shelby Wills says hey, everybody. She also introduces one of the many levels that you’ll be able to unlock in Godzilla: Unleashed for the Wii and PS2. The mothership is in pretty bad shape this time around, having crash-landed in San Francisco Bay at some point during story mode.

If you ask me it isn’t nearly as interesting in the floating, uprooted version of London in the game, but that’s just because aliens are real and London is an imaginary place. Now had they mixed the two and done The Parliament Funkadelic Mothership, then I would have been the first person in line for the game. Missed opportunities *sighs*.

Godzilla Unleashed On The PS2

This generation of consoles is a confusing one. Instead of having this gen and last gen, we seem to have split off into two different tiers of consoles, with the Xbox 360 and PS3 forming one tier and the Wii and PS2 forming the other. Generally when a publishers users the term “next-gen consoles” they are talking 360 and PS3, and more and more lately when a 3rd party game is announced for the Wii, a PS2 version isn’t far behind. Take Godzilla: Unleashed, for instance. After all of this time in development with the game coming out in a few months, Atari has just announced that a PlayStation 2 version is shipping alongside the Wii and DS versions. Aside from the obvious control differences, the PS2 version will feature monsters not found in the other two versions. Look for Godzilla: Unleashed on the WiiS2 this fall.
