After spending months parading about multiple live-action versions of Lollipop Chainsaw heroine Juliet, the game’s marketeers dress up four models in cheerleader outfits and bad zombie makeup and have them pile on each other. I can’t believe it took this long.
Lollipop Chainsaw has two image characters: Jessica Nigri for the West and Mayu Kawamoto for Japan. Kawamoto is a black belt in karate, but Nigri has, I guess, a black belt in revealing cosplay.
In the West, the “image character” for splatter game Lollipop Chainsaw is cosplayer Jessica Nigri. She’s great for events in America, but the commute to Japan is a little far. In Japan, the game needs a local image character, and a local is what it is going to get: American-born Japanese actress Mayu Kawamoto. Dressing as Lollipop Chainsaw’s Juliet, she appeared in the newly release promotional clip for the game. The 18 year-old is also putting in facetime at events.
Cosplayer extraordinaire Jessica Nigri garnered the most votes to become the real-life version of Juliet, the arse-kicking heroine of horror action game Lollipop Chainsaw. That victory comes with responsibilities, like posing at parties during promotional events and making commercials.
Goichi Suda, the man behind No More Heroes and Killer 7 (above), is working on a new game called Killer Is Dead. According to the upcoming issue of Famitsu, Suda is directing this assassin title. The game apparently takes its cues from both Killer 7 and No More Heroes. Killer Is Dead, however, is an original game.
According to a report on CVG, a Game Developers Conference session with No More Heroes creator Goichi Suda got a little strange yesterday when a homeless man (not pictured) joined Edge for an interview.
In the Japanese “Premium Edition” of Lollipop Chainsaw, players can switch between a “D-rated” version a “Z-rated” (think Mature) version. The standard version is D-rated. Watch the game’s trailer here, complete with sparkles and vivisections. [ゲーム情報!ゲームのはなし]
Guild 01 is not your typical 3DS game. It features four games from four different game creators. Here is some gameplay footage.
