Another November release date bites the dust, as Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law will see a suspended release until next year. Like EA’s Army of Two, Mr. Birdman was planned to ship on November 13, but for the PSP, PlayStation 2 and Wii, and is now scheduled for 2008. The reason? Store shelves would have been simply too crowded the week before Black Friday and the Cartoon Network lawyer would have been financially sent to die.
The news was confirmed by Capcom’s Christian Svensson, Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Research, on the company’s official boards. After a SiliconEra story writing of an updated ship date from retailers, Svensson redponded to fan concerns that it wasn’t going to make the holidays.
Taking another look at the list of upcoming releases for November, having Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law go up against Super Mario Galaxy, Assassin’s Creed and about two dozen other games releasing the same day, it’s clear Capcom did right by its niche title.
The publisher of intense legal dramas Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law is holding a pair of contests that will test your sense of humor while potentially netting you some free goodies. “Goodies?” you respond. Yes, goodies like video games, bobble heads and all sorts of licensed, high-quality crap. The Phoenix Wright competition tests your LOLcats skills at a beginner level, while the Harvey Birdman one issues a bigger challenge, requiring a cut and paste comic strip that knocks the socks of off the Capcom crew.
Full details on each contest are at the official Capcom blog. Good luck and make with the hilarity already.

Previously announced for the PS2 and PSP, Capcom is bring Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law to the Nintendo Wii this November. I would accuse the game of being a ripoff of Phoenix Wright, but Capcom makes Phoenix Wright as well, so I am just going to shut up now. Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is a fully animated interactive adventure game that merges the fun and mayhem of the popular Adult Swim TV show with Capcom’s unique style of gameplay. Players will step into the shiny wingtips of Harvey Birdman, a third-rate superhero turned third-rate defence attorney charged with exonerating parodied classic cartoon characters.
I’m actually planning on picking this one up. Between my deep love for the PW style of gameplay and the humour of Harvey Birdman lovingly reproduced in video game for as evidenced by the gameplay footage we posted awhile back, this one could be a winner. If anything you get to set Guile’s hair on fire, and let’s face it – Guile is kind of a dick. More »
