Can you believe the Wii has made it four years without a Hello Kitty title? Luckily Sanrio Digital and Zoo Games are bringing Hello Kitty Seasons to the Wii this holiday. Otherwise I would have had to kick some arse.
And drink from!
Hello Kitty, affectionately known in Japan as “Kitty-chan”, first appeared on a coin purse in the mid-1970s. From these humble beginnings, that cat created an empire of cute. But how?
Hey, you got your Hello Kitty in my Master Chief! You got your Master Chief in my Hello Kitty! Two great tastes that… eh… perhaps not.
I’m not sure when there’s so much interest here on Kotaku regarding Hello Kitty Online, and I’m not sure I really want to know, if only so I can maintain plausible deniability for whatever comes next. For whatever twisted reasons, the excitement is there, so I thought I’d let you in on the chance to gain prestige far beyond that of the normal Hello Kitty fan, by becoming one of the Hello Kitty Online founders! If selected, you’ll gain early access to the game on October 8th, along with special founder’s benefits and bragging rights powerful enough to make any preteen girl cry. All you have to do is have a SanrioTown account set up and send a blank email from your registered account to hkofounder@hellokitty.com, after which you’ll get a reply that goes something like this:
This is not a joke. The Hello Kitty Xbox is apparently so rare that it was only thought to be an April Fool’s joke. Turns out it’s very real. Limited to 500 units, the console was available only to customers who purchased a $US 5000 television at one specific retailer in Singapore. The console came with a Crystal coloured Xbox controller and a copy of Hello Kitty Mission Rescue. If Hello Kitty is good enough for her own Dreamcast console, guess an Xbox one doesn’t seem too far off. Hit the jump for the unboxing!
Whenever I take out my shiny pink DS in public it never fails to elicit stares of wonder, desire and in some cases, utter confusion. Why is this tattooed, big sideburned guy playing with this thing that looks like a girl’s compact? If you get these same looks when you whip yours out, here’s a way to confuse them even more!
DreamKitty.com is offering this oh-so-too-cutesy three piece vinyl sticker set so you can give that old DS Lite a Hello Kitty makeover, much to the delight of passers by. This pink fantasy can be yours for $US16.49 plus shipping. Go for it! You’re sure to be the envy of every 10 year old girl on the block.
