Maybe Metacritic Doesn’t Matter THAT Much After All…

Kotaku AU

Earlier last week, THQ’s share value dropped 25% as a result of mediocre early reviews for Homefront posted on Metacritic but, despite that, the game has gone on to sell strongly, shifting 1 million units across all markets, with 2.5 million shipped.

THQ Committed to Increasing Homefront’s Dedicated Servers

Kotaku AU

Let’s face facts folks, quite often Australians get the proverbial bum rap when it comes to online gaming, particularly with dedicated servers. Red Dawn Remake Pulls A Homefront, Retcons Korean Invasion

The forthcoming remake of Red Dawn, the 1984 film in which American teenagers band together to fight invading Soviet forces, will feature a North Korean invasion of the United States, similar to just-released shooter Homefront. Homefront Is Where The Live Action Is

Kotaku AU

THQ is treating Homefront like the top notch, big budget, AAA shooter it hopes it’ll become, and this recently released live action trailer is testament to that fact. There seems to have been a heavy amount of investment in Homefront’s future as a franchise – let’s hope the game delivers.

Gamestop’s Balloons Don’t Fly In San Francisco

GameStop’s Homefront promotion for the Game Developers Conference involved releasing hundreds of red balloons in the downtown of one of the most environmentally conscious cities in America. Many floated into its neighbouring bay. Bad idea? Yeah, you could say that.

Communism Can Be Delicious

Kotaku AU

Wandering around GDC, I came across this inspired – and delicious – piece of marketing for the upcoming Homefront: a van selling delicious (apparently Northern) Korean grub.
