Pit Crew Panic - Koala Motorcycle

Posted by Mike Fahey at 5:11 AM on November 25, 2008

Reading Amanda's initial impressions of Hudson's forthcoming WiiWare title Pit Crew Panic was a rather enlightening experience. Not because it brought to light my bizarre fetish concerning women in mini-skirts working in a pit crew, but because it introduced a new phrase into my everyday speech - koala motorcycle. Whenever I see something that makes no sense, or someone says something I don't understand...that is the time for koala motorcycle.

Pit Crew Panic - Girls in Miniskirts Fixing Giant Toilets

Posted by AJ Glasser at 5:40 AM on November 12, 2008

Pit Crew Panic is one of those games that makes me question the wisdom of the Wii being marketed to casual audiences. On the one hand, we get quality mini game compilations and fantastic motion controlled-adventures. And on the other - we get girls in miniskirts fixing giant toilets.

Alien Crush Returns - Space Venereal Disease Strikes WiiWare

Posted by AJ Glasser at 8:00 AM on November 8, 2008

Is there some rule among game developers that all creepy space aliens have to look like vaginas with teeth? If so, what makes you think you can throw a half-dozen of them into a pinball game and have the best possible WiiWare title ever?

Here's What Alien Crush Returns Looks Like

Posted by Mike Fahey at 2:40 AM on November 4, 2008

In celebration of the release of their remake of the classic TurboGrafx-16 pinball game Alien Crush on Nintendo's WiiWare platform, Hudson has let us see what Alien Crush Returns looks like with this batch of screenshots. Looks as if you're playing pinball inside someone's digestive system which just happens to be filled with bug-like aliens, doesn't it? Good, that means it's working. Check out the screens.

Takahashi Meijin On Likelihood of Hudson Hardware Return...

Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 7:00 PM on October 3, 2008

Hudson Soft no longer makes video games consoles, but at one time, it did. Best known for the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16), Hudson stepped out of the home hardware market it in 1999 in Japan. In the years that followed, the company was purchased by Japanese developer Konami. Hudson human mascot Takahashi Meijin tells game site Gamasutra that the company is not doing any type of chip development at the moment."Actually, two or three years ago, we made the chip for a Konami TV game product known as the Poem," Takahashi added, "You could use it to do things like play baseball on the TV." While there is no R&D at the present moment, Takahashi does not dash hopes at another handheld PC Engine:

There may be a possibility, because there are still two main programmers with the company.

Don't expect that any time soon or like ever, but hey, nice to see that those two main programmers are at Hudson. Loyalty is important.

Bomberman Blast Blows Up Your Miis Online

Posted by Mike Fahey at 3:40 AM on August 27, 2008

Hudson has just officially announced Bomberman Blast, an all-new installment of the classic franchise created exclusively for Nintendo's WiiWare line that not only allows you to compete online along with seven other players - it allows *you* to compete online. The game will allow you to bring your own Miis into the action, letting you watch tiny superdeformed versions of yourself being immolated by explosives. Joy!

"The Bomberman franchise is one of Hudson Entertainment's most popular," said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. "We're driven by the support of the fans and strive to provide unique new gameplay features with each new Bomberman title to please the longtime fans, as well as make the game accessible to newcomers."

The game will support leaderboards as well as online Bomberman tournaments, including one that will kick off with the launch of the game. When is the game launching? *scans press release, finds nothing* Eventually.

My Aquarium Brings Relaxing Aquatic Landscapes to WiiWare

Posted by Adam Barenblat at 3:20 AM on August 13, 2008

Blue Oasis - or My Aquarium as it will be called in the states - is coming to WiiWare sometime later this year. What can we expect? gravel, plant life and 40 different types of fish. Hopefully the game will cost 500 points like it does on the Japanese store; I can't imagine paying much more for an aquarium simulator. Regardless, it's kinda nice to see someone taking a twist on the whole Nintendogs craze. The only thing I want to know is can I get my fish to fetch?

Hudson Ships 700,000 Copies of DECA SPORTS

Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 6:00 PM on August 5, 2008

Hudson's Adidas ad sports title DECA SPORTS. Since putting the game on sale earlier this year, Hudson has shipped 700,000 copies to Japan, North America and Europe, selling 500,000 of them worldwide. That's a pretty good ship-to-sales ratio right there, folks!

Takahashi Meijin: New Adventure Island Coming, Maybe Star Soldier As Well

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 9:30 PM on June 27, 2008

Hey, it's Hudson icon, Takahashi Meijin! Otherwise known as Master Higgins. Dude's in the US at the moment on a promo tour for Hudsons's Adidas commercial Deca Sports, and yesterday sat in on a big roundtable interview. Most of the stuff discussed you can live without, but for these: Meijin confirms that a new Adventure Island game is in development, to be released via WiiWare. He then almost confirms, with a little help from Hudson USA's Mike Pepe, the fact they're also working on a new Star Soldier game, again for the Wii. Wonderful!
