Double Fine’s Humble Bundle Comes Packaged With A Weird Video…

Starring Tim Schafer as what can only be described as a game designer version of Dr Steve Brules. The Humble Double Fine Bundle itself is actually a pretty solid collection of games, combining the classic Psychonauts with some of the studio’s more recent work like Stacking and Costume Quest. You like video games, right? Why not check it out.

Who Was The Biggest Beneficiary Of THQ’s $5 Million Humble Bundle?

I guess there’s no way of knowing, but I really would like to find out how much of the $US5,098,093.79 raised by the Humble THQ Bundle went to charity, and how much went to the embattled publisher, which may qualify as a charitable cause depending on how you feel about its situation and the games it makes.

THQ Humble Indie Bundle Raises Over $5m

The THQ Humble Indie Bundle was insane. Featuring a massive amount of THQ’s best games, as you might expect, the sale went off, shifting 885,313 bundles for a grand total of $5,097,678.03.

Titan Quest And Red Faction DLC Sweeten The Humble THQ Bundle

The Humble THQ Bundle was already a fantastic deal. $US1 for Red Faction: Armageddon, Darksiders, Metro 2033 and Company of Heroes and its two expansions, Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor. Paying an extra $US5 would also net you Saints Row: The Third. Now, THQ has sweetened the deal even more, adding Titan Quest and the Path of War DLC for Armageddon.

THQ’s CEO Has Paid More Than Anyone Else For His Company’s Humble Bundle

Right now, the Humble Bundle featuring THQ games has earned more than $US2.3 million, with more Hell, someone’s even paid over a thousand dollars for the seven titles on offer. Wait a minute, that name seems familiar…

THQ Is So Broke It Made A Humble Bundle

Ahh, Humble Bundle, the best site in the world for great packages of indie games and- wait, what’s this? Saints Row? Darksiders? I see you, THQ! Just peeking in the bushes there, waiting to ensnare us with your new humble bundle. You’re not an indie developer at all, THQ! What are you even doing.

Geeky Musicians Unite For The Humble Indie Music Bundle

We’ve had humble indie game bundles, and humble indie game soundtrack bundles… so I guess it only makes sense that we’d get a Humble Indie Music bundle by people who people who like games might like.

That was a mouthful. Anyway! Now, you can pay what you want for six albums by OK Go, They Might Be Giants, Christopher Tin, Hitoshi Sakimoto and Jonathan Coulton, and MC Frontalot. Only one of those (Sakimoto’s Best of the Valkyria Chronicles) is a game soundtrack, but the Humble Bundle folks are betting that enough people have crossover with these artists that they’ll want to take the plunge. You can also choose how much of your purchase goes to the musicians and how much goes to either of two charities. Nice.

Okay, let’s listen to They Might Be Giants doing “Exquisite Dead Guy.” Because I love that song:

Weird, great song.

Pay Whatever You Want For The Lovely Botanicula, Get Other Free Stuff

I think that Botanicula, the new game from Machinarium indies Amanita Design, is freakin’ wonderful. I already wrote about why I like it, so read that if you’re wondering about the game. Short version: if you have a heart and like lovely and funny things, you should play it.

Mojam Raises $US440,000, But Notch’s Beard Appears To Be Safe

The Humble Bundle Mojam, a weekend-long game jam by the makers of Minecraft and its friends, wrapped up about an hour ago, though Mojang, Oxeye Games Studio and Wolfire Games are still working overtime to tighten their creations, built from scratch in the past 48 hours. That screenshot above was taken when the clock hit zero.

The Humble Indie Bundle Gets Bigger, Better, And Therefore Less Humble

The new Humble Indie Bundle is terrific. For a price of your own choosing, you can get indie gems Super Meat Boy, Bit. Trip Runner, Jamestown, Shank and Nightsky, as well as Cave Story + and Gratuitous Space Battles for paying more than the average selling price.
