OK, interesting is the polite way of me saying “It makes me uncomfortable”. That might have something to do with the fact that I once worked as the studio’s PR and media relations guy until September of this year. If I was still in that position, I might have thought twice about making this video.
Activision commissioned TwitchGames, makers of Slice HD, to create a Prototype 2-themed minigame available now for iOS devices on the iTunes App Store. It’s a big free ad for the upcoming game, but it’s also a small free game that utilises the multitouch interface in a challenging way.
Final Fantasy has them. So does World of Warcraft. Heck, the big bad guy with a million hit points is a staple in traditional RPGs, as are their loot-dispensing qualities. Remember Parrot’s awesome iPhone-controlled AR.Drone? Of course you do. Grab an AR.Drone-owning friend and when the augmented reality app hits the App Store, get downloading for some healthy Bluetooth-based competition.
The only thing more ridiculous than a television quiz show set inside a taxi cab is an iPhone game simulating a television quiz show set inside a taxi cab.
There is now an iPhone game that allows you to play drums against Animal from The Muppet Show. Truly we live in an age of wonders.
