Jam Sessions Hates Fucking Spongecake (NSFW)
4:00PM Luke Plunkett | These are, believe it or not, the New Zealand commercials for Ubisoft’s cosy little DS music title Jam Sessions. Both are truly magnificent. Neither, however, are suitable for work. The one above features profanity, while the second commercial – after the jump – features a kind of tongue and hand action that’s generally frowned upon. 10:26AM Logan Booker | Oz Kotakuite Will Ooijer has gone to the trouble of comparing Ubisoft’s Jam Sessions on the DS to the real thing. A bit unfair? Maybe, but a fun read nonetheless. Included are separate scores for comfort, chords and fingerpicking – among other things. A word of caution: if you’re a big Jam Sessions fan, the following link may upset you.

Konami Code Unlocks Hidden Jam Sessions Songs
1:00AM Flynn De Marco | Some things just never go out of style. Hidden tracks on Ubisoft’s Jam Sessions, previously only available through purchase of the game at Best Buy, are actually unlockable on any version using a truncated version of the good old Konami code. Pushing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, and Right during Free mode will net you three new songs: • Brad Paisley – “I’m Gonna Miss Her” • Jimi Hendrix – “Wild Thing” • Tom Petty – “Needles and Pins” For those of you set up with left-handed controls you can use X, X, B, B, Y, A, Y, and A on the letter pads instead. I have tested this out myself and it worked just fine, so go and enjoy yourself with two great new songs and one rather questionable one. (I’ll let you decide which one that is for yourself.) 10:00AM Flynn De Marco | This week has a nice choice of titles spread out over various systems (sans the PSP). I’m trying to get to Heavenly Sword tonight so I can see for myself what it’s going to be like and I am anxious to check out Jam Sessions and Drawn to Life for the DS. I’ve avoided Oblivion for a while just because I’m afraid of getting sucked in, but the inclusion of all the expansions on one disc is intriguing. What to do, what to do? Heavenly Sword (PS3) Will Nariko and her moves rival Kratos? Skate (X360) Skate to your heart’s content and see what life is like without Tony Hawk. Jam Sessions Bundle Includes A Real Amp
3:30PM Luke Plunkett | Anyone still need convincing Jam Sessions on the DS is a must-buy? Song creation and Johnny Cash not enough for you? Behold. The Jam Sessions bundle. So called because it’s bundled with a guitar amp. A real one, for when the DS speakers just will not cut it. Course it’s not a full-sized one, as the whole bundle’s only coming in at $US69.99, but still, a small amp’s better than no amp. Jam Sessions Perfomance Bundle [Gamestop, via Go Nintendo] More »
